Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How many people do you know who drive around with marijuana in their car and aren’t high while doing it.

Because I can safely say I don’t know any.

To be fair, it wasn't his car.

However, I can tell when people have been eating in a car, let alone smoking weed. To think it was an honest mistake is pretty hard to believe.

A lot of times, people come home to get better. At this point, Kareem might be better off in Tampa or LA than in Cleveland. His family seems full of losers and people who will ruin his career.

If they rely on Hunt, he's one bad day away from Hillard/Unknown RB.

You cannot trust that Hunt has the ability to be on the field when you need him. He's Josh Gordon.

In an ideal world, you would love to keep Kareem, but the guy is way too much of a risk and, simply put, the Browns need reliability at all costs.

They need to replace Hillard regardless. Hunt isn't going to get any offers in free agency now. He is going to be cheaper than any replacement free agent.

Draft a RB, maybe bring in a cheap free agent to camp, and bring in another RB that was undrafted then figure it all out during the preseason. Once the punishment is brought down, I think that's when they should make the decision.

Whatever, I guess you can wait if you want to. I see no reason to lose sleep over it. He's not going to be available for the Browns one way or the other.

I was already a big proponent of drafting a RB anyway. This just seals the need for it to me. Hell, it might mean they need to make a meaningful draft pick investment, although Stefanski has had a lot of success finding guys who are under utilized and over looked this past year.

Luckily this RB class is deeeeep. JK, where you at?

I never drive high, but I occasionally do drive with weed in the car because I have to go pick it up from the guy I buy from.

That video was pretty sad, honestly. Don't think I would have guessed Kareem drives a Chrysler 200 either.

You have a point but I think we should not take for granted that the Browns can simply draft a guy in the mid-rounds that will be as good as Hunt.

While it is true that KC produces great RBs like a factory, people should also keep in mind that he beat out some good competition over there for a reason, and that he played exceptionally well for the Browns.

A good hands, solid route-running RB that can also power run between the numbers and block aren't exactly common in the NFL.

If Chubb got hurt tomorrow (God forbid), Hunt would seamlessly fit right in and have a Pro Bowl year.

Frankly, weed violations are not what they used to be, he wasn't even charged and unless there is absolute proof he was drinking behind the wheel or something, there is no reason to cut him loose. Put him in the program if necessary, but banking on a 3rd or 4th Round draft pick to perform as well is asking for trouble.

If he screws up again fine, cut him, but his skill-set demands another chance; particularly since he isn't even in trouble for this.

If rookie running backs were a gimme, every team would have a Pro Bowl RB.

"Its the off-season I'm just trying to have a good time" followed by an admission that you're doing this because of the hard time you had not playing in the Super Bowl with the team that cut you.

Not a great excuse, guys.

I say this as someone who is happy to advocate for any MJ related cause, but Kareem is a dude who needs some help. The Browns do not appear to have an infrastructure capable of helping him...

Respectfully, I wholly disagree.

There are times where a person's actions should prompt discipline in order to put them back on track... This just feels different. He may need real help.

The organization needs to exhaust some resources in counseling, mental health treatment, and substance abuse before they just cut bait and give up on Kareem, the human being (football aside).

Delonte West needs to serve as a sad example of what happens when people around you conflate mental illness with a bad attitude. Dismissing mental illness as athletes who "just don't get it," is - at best - an oversimplification of what we're witnessing.
Josh Gordon.
We don’t need to focus on fixing guys. We need to worry about fixing the entire organization. Let Hunt go to NE and get help.

Especially now with Dorsey gone. He was one of his biggest (and likely most tolerable) supporters.

Welcome to the Browns, Andrew Berry. Looks like we are wasting no time in filling your plate up with work! At least you're already familiar with the shit storm that is THEE Cleveland Browns.

Very humanitarian of you.
Ha. We have too many egos and jokers on this team that don’t have legal/mental issues. We need to focus on the organization and culture before we start being a rehabilitation clinic.

I would also add that yeah, his behavior after being stopped the police and put in the cruiser was odd.

I shall ask, how many of you as young men have acted like a boss after being pulled over and put in a police car?

No shit he was acting weird and the rest of you would be scared shitless too.

Especially if you were in any way not lame and was going somewhere with a little weed and some booze.

Did the cop find a recently used joint or pipe? No. Did he find a drink?

He literally had this shit in a backpack in the back seat like anyone might on their way to a friend's house.

This is all completely overwrought even with his prior history; an incident I might add that is very different from run of the mill abuse.
