Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is kind of funny all the people that acted like he was Ray Rice or something.

I’m very happy we have Kareem and I hope he remains in Cleveland with Chubb for years to come.
I actually think the Ray Rice comp is a really good one.... for his play on the field. Smaller guy, built and sturdy--best trait it contact balance. Not much long speed but just stays on his feet and gets more than he should. Runs around like a bowling ball mixed with a ping pong ball, sort of running into defenders yet somehow still bouncing off them and staying upright well after most backs would go down...

But yeah, their off-field antics aren't similar.

I credit Kareem into turning his life around and being a good player and decent human for the Browns.

But the only reason he wasn't black balle like Ray Rice was that he was in his prime and his stuff wasn't caught on camera. Make no mistake, he deserved every bit of criticism from early on in the thread.

Wasn't it caught on camera?

I think there were like 3 fights. All involving alcohol. The only one on video was the woman he hit and kicked. One was in Put in Bay

Ya, prior to the infamous event, there was a nightclub allegation and a Put-In-Bay allegation of fights. No charges in either case.

Here's a TMZ article ( a fine bastion of American media) on them: https://www.tmz.com/2018/12/04/kareem-hunt-video-nightclub-fight-kansas-city-chiefs/

I'd never heard of these, I imagine because it was all "alleged" and charges were never pursued.
He got pulled over for speeding and had weed and vodka in his car too, he was only charged w/ speeding.

I think he cheated on a 3rd grade math quiz once too, but he scores Touchdowns, so I mean. I feel so conflicted! :p

I think it was telling that the Chiefs released him for being dishonest in that situation, nothing else. I applaud the Chiefs for making a move for violating their principles despite it hurting their organization and I think it's good to see a guy have a chance to make a living when he's been convicted of nothing that would preclude that.

I really love how Kareem has handled essentially being 1B behind Chubb. He always appears to be in high spirits, brings a lot of energy in the locker room and on the field, and buys into his role in the system. He could easily be a starter on another team in this league and while I hope he stays long-term, I wouldn't begrudge him if he wanted to leave at the end of his contract for one more payday.

Not sure when he is up, but it's working for him and us for now.. If we actually win the trophy, he makes the hall of fame, IMO, as part of the most dangerous running duo in football history.. I am not even sure there is a precedent that's close.. Morris/Czonka?

It used to be speed or power, but both of these guys have both..

I'm just happy Kareem Hunt is in a good mental place now, enjoying the game and happy.

The sports side of me is thrilled he's a Brown and not on the Chiefs... he's a much better running back than CEH.

Really a win/win/win for the player, the franchise, and the rest of the NFL aside from the Chiefs.
