A TE that was #7 or better in receptions for the entire NFL by TEs over the last three years, but he sucks...hmmm...
Can anybody actually show any sort of proof that he was a cancer in the locker room?
I will give you two things, he made some bonehead penalties from time to time. At his age, his salary is too high and needs restructured.
This team is in desperate need for people that can make plays on offense, Kellen can do that for this team. Especially for a rookie QB, a TE that can catch the ball is critical. He is not going to be able to block with the better tight ends in the league, no. But we don't exactly have world beaters as is. I don't see why this is being sought as such a wild idea. If this was asking for Braylon, sure, I get the issue. But this is a monetary move for Tampa, not production. He has produced his entire NFL career. You guys are fools saying he doesnt have the talent to be here or that he is a bum. He would be a huge upgrade. Just because he is getting released doesn't mean he isn't any good. Players get released and move around and still have wildly productive careers with the next team.
I don't think it is likely, as the Browns have showed they have zero interest in improving this team by adding talent in any other way but the draft, but he is going to help some team and they will be lucky to get him. I don't see it via trade though, unless his salary is reduced.
