Over/under on how many minutes per game he gets? The bar can be set at 5.

I'm tired of this Love shitshow, really
I don’t know. I think this is actually a good thing for us. If Love actually makes a positive contribution and busts his ass then maybe some team out there would want him at the deadline OR a year from now. If he doesn’t - we’re no worse off. But it’s in his own interest to kick ass. And if he does - it would be hilarious.

Pop is the ultimate no-nonsense disciplinarian. Looking forward to see what USA gets out of Love.

I’m still surprised he was chosen, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Love looks pretty good. The level of athleticism is a lot lower with most teams so his lack of speed won’t be as exposed. International ball is also often a grown man’s game and his physical strength, outside shooting and passing are valuable assets.

There are a lot of Love haters out there, and a bunch of Sexton haters as well. Some Cavaliers fans more confused than Nigel Tufnel actually proposed sending Sexton and Love down the turnpike for Ben Simmons.

People are dumping on Love because he's going to the Olympics and criticizing Sexton who is in the gym busting his ass as he always does.

Ben blew off the Olympics and Australia because he claimed he needed to work on his game. So where is he? He's at Wimbledon watching tennis and making out in the stands with Maya Jama.

Pay max money for this bum in the fantastic hope that he'll get serious about his profession when he comes to Cleveland.

And there are complaints about Kevin Love? Please.

I'm partly convinced this Simmons to Cleveland idea is a plot to make getting Wiggins a genius move by comparison (and it would be, God help us).

I can't believe that there is anyone who could seriously want Simmons on this team. The only team Simmons has a chance to succeed on is a team full of shooters. I can't think of a team with less shooters than this Cavs squad, especially if they were to move Sexton and Love for Simmons. We'd take the game back 50 years.

I don’t get it either. Simmons has talent but shortcomings. He needs to be on a team that can score. We move sexton and love and bring in Simmons ??

There’s increasing chatter about Love approaching the Cavaliers about a buyout and him ending up with either the Warriors or Nets, where he could chase a title. Honestly, if we can’t trade him and can buy him out for $0.50-$0.60 on the $1, it’s not the worst option and beats taking back another bad contract.

I want to keep Love and draft Green, Cunningham or Suggs. But if we draft Mobley, I could see Love giving back the amount of the mid-level exception for two years in a buyout. I think that would save the Cavs about 9 million a year and Love would be able to recoup that as some contending team would likely give him 9 M a year.

But, why would the Altman and the Cavs want to do a buyout? It does nothing to help us sign or trade for a better player. Maybe after the trade deadline a buyout might make sense, but hard to see it happening before the season starts. It is most likely that Love remains a Cav or is traded for someone that helps us win now than it is giving him a buyout.

Any buyout would be dead money stretched over five years. That would be nuts.
No they would not stretch him. Take the hit the last 2 years of his contract like Detroit did with Griffin this past season. Whatever Love gives back would be deducted from the $30 mil per season they owe him over the next 2 years. The stretch provision would only be required if the Cavs need extra cap space this summer or next to sign a FA.
