I don't know how the FO feels about Love, but I definitely wouldnt do him any favors after his pouty lame ass performance since Lebron let. If you can get something back for him, take it, but don't buy him out just so he can go play for a team he gives a shit about. Fuck that.

It really depends on how much less he’s willing to take in a buyout. If Love is gonna be a cancer, we need to get him away from our young guys ASAP. It’s addition by subtraction.

Which is why I keep telling everybody here who thinks Love is washed…that he isn’t. His contract is the only preventing him from being traded. There are at least 6-7 teams that would Love in a heartbeat

This whole "sign a contract then just decide you don't want to give it your all b/c you aren't on the team you want to be on" thing has to stop. F*ck thaht. We either get something for Kevin or he can fulfill his end of the bargain.

Like if another team wants to sign him with the big MLE and we do the buy out, they better simultaneously trade us a player better than what we are sending back.

The Mavs really wanted him during the season and so did the Raptors
That’s news to me, as I never heard that. There were multiple teams reportedly interested in Love if he was bought out, but few, if any teams, were interested in taking on his existing contract.

Per Wojo and Stein Portland wanted him bad but the Cavs were asking for Powell in return and they said no. The Mavs were actually aggressively trying to bring in a third team to make the trade work. As I said a lot of teams wanted Love but the contract was the biggest obstacle

There's another aspect that most Cavs fans in Cleveland have preferred to ignore: the calf injury wasn't a conscious decision.

Did Kevin Love spend more time relaxing and acting like a retired athlete in the past few off-seasons? Yes, he did and that is a conscious decision. Did plenty of people see that decision leading to a season like he just put in? You bet.

However, being injured isn't a conscious decision. I still don't believe Love needs to be off the team. That's a reflection of fan frustration after such a tough stretch.

His selection to the Olympic team and especially his acceptance of the invitation aren't just a chance for him to find a comfortable landing spot after being cut. I see it as an invitation for him to be a more physically prepared player for the tail end of his career. That only helps the Cavs, if handled correctly.

Are you sure on the Powell stuff? I think the Cavs wanted Norman Powell was for Drummond with Toronto. Portland only got Norman Powell at the deadline for Gary Trent Jr. The Mavs wanted to include Dwight Powell in a Kevin Love deal but the Cavs probably didn't want him since he is coming off an achilles tear.

That's a fair point, but doesn't excuse some of the on-the-court antics, body language, and general leadership. I have zero evidence but feel like he milked that injury, but again, that's just what I want to believe. Popovich has a way with some players where he is tough on them but makes them hold themselves to a higher standard. While Pop can't fix calves, maybe he can........

FIX CAVS!

The magic of Coach Pops is that his players adore him. He isn't just the most demanding coach in the NBA, that alone wouldn't accomplish jack-shit. Pops also makes them feel like a family, takes them out to fine dinners with expensive wines, and creates a culture.

The Spurs have a whole lot of cap room this summer. They may want to resign DeRozan and others, but they can get creative with a sign and trade for Love... and power forward is their biggest need.

What do you think they give us back with a sign and trade for Love?

I could see the Cavs giving some 2nd round picks so they can say they at least got a decent player for Love instead of straight up dumping him.
