I do not have time to read every post at least at certain times of the day. I do not “look” for certain posters. I read someone’s thoughts about love’s possible buyout and said what I wanted to say about it
If it concurs or doesn’t concur with your opinion then so be it. It’s just my opinion. Certainly does not mean I am right,it is simply my opinion. I am not stealing your content
It’s all good. At least from my end. Peace

I have a better understanding of your position. It makes sense that you echoed what people said at the end of the season when Love's value was at its lowest.

If you want to talk about the conversation we were in before, the topic is:

1. Kevin Love is not a static asset.

2. He can raise his value under Popovich, and a buyout isn't the only option if things go well.

3. Popovich himself is desperate at power forward, and connecting with Love might lead to a move with the Spurs.

I hope Pop does a good reclamation project on Love, well enough to get him traded not as a negative asset...

On a related note, I think Sexton would do really well with Pop, not that I am eager to trade Sexton but if the Cavs do trade him I hope it is with the Spurs so he could reach his ceiling as a player.... The kid drives me nuts sometimes but has won me over with his grit and work ethic, I hope he does well with the Cavs or any other team...

Agreed on all three points
I am just anti buyout. I want what is best for the Cavs
What did we save with Drummond, 800,000
I do not begrudge love or Drummond signing the contracts they did. Who wouldn’t sign those deals.
What could we get from the Spurs for love that would match up salary wise ?

Agreed. If we move sexton I hope he goes to a team with a winning culture and real coaching
To me it is amazing what sexton has done in Cleveland pretty much by himself.

First, they would have to renounce cap holds on some vets besides DeRozan. They can always bring back Patty Mills some other way. From there, the Cavs trade another young contract for an asset they prefer, like Windler for Lonnie Walker or Samanic and a second rounder... If they are willing to part with Devin Vassell, kick in three second rounders with Windler... something like that.

This is why it's a good idea to read the thread before posting, @avs2000. It's literally what I was talking about.

I don't believe the Cavs can pry away a major young cog of the team, but the Cavs can move Love into their 2021 cap space with a trade.

Whatever. I could respond. But you might have touched on what I was going to say last April

Trading Love into capspace does seem like a vest case scenario for the Cavs. I didn't think anyone had enough.

Love to the Spurs is really funny because Kevin torched them year before last and we won the season series. He was the one to send it to overtime.

I personally don't think it is impossible Kevin gets traded, and this does seem like a full court press to rehab his value.

If not, I think the cavs should keep his minutes ~ 20 and they should probably make him the focus of the bench offense. He can come in first or even symbolically start, but come out early.

I think there's a difference between what I wrote less than an hour before you posted and last April. Why not read before posting? Especially since you engaged me in a discussion with a quote? Why is that hard?

If you look around the league at the main contributors to the Warriors vs. Cavaliers four year war, everyone but Steph Curry is in the downside of their career. Those were hard-fought and long playoff runs.

I agree he is not a team centerpiece. He was paid to be one from 2018 -2020, but injuries and Covid ruined the peak returns of his 4 year contract. So like many guys who sign a last deal at 30 years old, he's a depreciated asset... but if Pops + Love clicks this summer? He can get DeRozan and a Love trade into the cap space... if DeRozan wants to stay. If not, 20 minutes of Love and a third tier free agent might be the best Pops can do with that cap space.

I hope we could get Vassell from the Spurs. Windler and 3 good 2nd round picks probably isn't that far from Vassell's value. I do think some sort of trade where Love goes into cap space and we basically pay for a young player is how it will go. It's Koby saving face and being able to spin the trade as getting young talent.

I can't believe we're two pages into a defense of "Yeah, I quoted you directly and responded to you, but you can't expect me to actually read what you wrote!"

Some people...
I did not quote him directly. I did not read his post. Apparently we agreed though. Lol
