Does Love offer more value as an expiring deal next season? We have one year left on Nance's deal and Cedi's final year of his deal is nonguaranteed meaning he's an expiring too.

Basically 46 million in expiring contracts plus picks and young guys. Maybe it be more beneficial to keep Love to help facilitate a blockbuster deal?

Can we trade he for a 41 year old Luis Scola?

I think its tough to use a 30 mill expiring...see Drumond.

Basically that means we are taking a long term contract bad equally as bad as Love when we were just about to be done with it. Like Drummond, you will see a slight buy out then some team sign him for the vet min to see if there is anything left in the tank.

Spoiler alert, there isnt.

I just don't understand why he can't suck it up and at least be a good mentor to our young core. If he was half the leader that Rubio was for all his past teams, I would love to have him around Mobley and Allen.

This malcontent, half-ass, always injured, wine enthusiast version is NOT who I want these young guys to be around. He has a wealth of knowledge from not only playing with Lebron, but also going from a 1st option to a 3rd option and making the needed sacrifices. Not to mention he also has that championship experience.

On paper, that's the guy you would love to have in Mobley's corner to help him develop his game. But instead, he just mails it in on the court and has contributed to a lot of locker room toxicity throughout his career.

That said, I do hope he accepts a bench role and actually helps contribute. But I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Not a good situation all around. 1) Cavs negotiate a buy-out and play hard ball trying to minimize the cap hit and it looks bad to rest of the players in the league because KLove is well liked and respected. 2) Cavs negotiate a Grffin-like buy-out and take the cap hit. 3) No-one wants that contract without major pieces coming (1st round draft picks) so its hard to trade. 4) This is why you will keep hearing "When he is healthy, we think we can contend for a playoff spot" which actually, may be true? 5) If he is a locker room distraction, then you have to cut your losses. If he is actually being the pro we think he should be, then he still has worth for your young guys but I don't think it is as good leadership as we would want.

Either way, I think the best think to do would be to take the cap hit, give him praise for being the ultimate professional in his sacrifice and then leadership during a rebuild and not to mention a championship. And I think you go overboard with the praise to make the league want to puke because any other scenario at this point sucks for the Cavs.

Right.
And KLove had such an arsenal of skills. His rebounding, three point shooting and outlet passes were some of the best in the league. Pass that knowledge on to the youngsters.

Is he an asshole? I know he tried to show up refs and Beilein. Is he liked in the locker room? His Uncle is Mike Love who a legendary asshole.

Do you really think Love is well-liked and respected by his fellow players? I didn’t hear any uproar when he dropped himself off the Olympics roster.

I think Love went from low-key to high-key asshole after the championship team fell apart and the losing began to mount. He moved a few steps up the pecking order and could do what he wanted given his big contract extension and (at that time) decent performance.

in retrospect, I think it’s a miracle we won a ring with Moody Love and Krazy Kyrie. They mostly kept it together until the big 3 broke up.

I actually think he is plus the fact that any negativity will only go back to the Cavs and Gilbert. We already have the Drummond debacle, the KPJ situation, the Ty Lue firing, the Belein experience all with the same GM. Even if the players actually don’t like him, they will side with the player.

Lue deserves a special award for having to manage LeBron, Kyrie, Kevin and Pipe. Plus TT knocked up a Kardashian. That's some starting five for tabloids. Reminiscent of Phil having to manage Jordan & Pippin followed by Shaq & Kobe.

Word. That team was such a personality challenge.

I hated Love from the very beginning. I tried telling ya'll. Players that do not give any effort defensively and pout have shitty personalities.. it is known.

It's infinitely easier to criticize than do. That veteran core won a championship and four Eastern Conference championships. They were not trying to pass a test for humanitarian of the year award. Ironically, Kevin Love won one of those in 2020.

I don't know if the fan base is best equipped to psycho-analyze professional athletes, especially with a bias toward the negative I'm seeing toward literally every member of that championship core.

Stuff to consider...
