I was one of those that wanted Kevin Love gone, *almost* by any means, before this year started. With the hissy fits and tantrums of the last couple years, I didn't want him anywhere near Evan Mobley. He has turned into an actual asset this year, though. He's now not only an elite influence on the young guys but also an asset on the court. As mentioned above, let him play out the contract, then see about extending him (at about 10% of this current salary) if he wants to stay. Hopefully we can keep Ricky, too.

I was also done with him earlier this summer after several years sticking up for him, and like you, I was mostly worried about his effect on the team culture. But he's been nothing but positive, accepting his bench role, providing instant offense, and, well, some decent defense, which is stellar given his track record. How many times this season has he come in when we're up 12 and helped push that to 20+?

I'm glad he's gotten things sorted out, and I'm glad the Cavs kept him. (Granted, not many options, but still.) Just goes to show you need to stick with people through the rough times.

I have to admit I am enjoying watching how into the games Kevin is on the bench as much as the game itself.
I thought this year was going to be an absolute disaster for him and the team.
He's really bought into everything and its making everything more enjoyable.

Just needs to be careful with his celebrations, the injury jenga is teetering slightly.... :chuckle:

I would have liked to see JB go to him over Cedi when Maark was pulled for being horrendous tonight in the 4th. Cedi did fine but why not lean on the old man from time to time.
Old man? If he was on the Lakers he'd be a kid.

Tonight was fun

A well-deserved props for Kevin Love this game with 23 points, 5 3s, 9 reb in just 23 min of play. And you know who is leading the FT% this year. It is Love at 96% from the charity stripe. His veteran presence and shooting is like RJ and Frye.

I'll be curious to see if he even wants to be traded at the deadline. This is a fantastic role for him, and he really looks like he's having fun out there. And a team with absolutely no drama has to be such a relief for him.

listening to Kevin’s post-game interview, he seems to be rejuvenated both mentally and physically. Perhaps, the Colangelo verbal bashing was a blessing in disguise and motivated him . Regardless, it’s nice to see.

Side note: it’s great to see Cavs fans excited again.

Very glad he has been instrumental in this rebuild. Being hurt enough to draft where we drafted and winning that Celtics game at the end of last year.

He was hurt in exactly the right way to maximize the tanking return. Great supporting cast and then a superstar.

Kudos to Kevin. He is thriving in limited minutes. I swear playing harder means guys aren't slamming into him while he is stationary. It is keeping him healthier because he is playing hard when he is out there.

He's in his best shape in years. It makes a huge difference.

Love was hot tonight and it's good to see.

But my favorite parts of his game was watching him rip down some big boy rebounds in traffic, right after the refs pissed him off. When Love wants a rebound bad enough not much is going to stop him from getting it.
