Herro will get it because the people who vote on this don't pay attention to the Cavs even when they are the most exciting team to watch

This is where Cavs fans come in, beating the sum on social media. Let other fans know that a dude playing 32 minutes a night is no '6th man' but a guy playing starters minutes.

Unfortunately, Lou Williams has already won it playing even more mpg than has Herro, so I think that ship has sailed.

Herro is contributing nothing but points. Love is adding the rebounds, and seems to contribute a lot more to winning. So perhaps he has a shot. But his minutes seem low compared to past 6th men, so the raw numbers may just not be good enough.

I reckon K-Love is the fourth most important person on the team right now behind Garland, Rubio, & Allen. Mobley is the most talented player on the roster obviously, but those guys are most important right now when it comes to contributing to wins night in and night out.

With Rubio officially out for the season, Love's production may drop the most of everyone on the team, especially once we get past the G League COVID stretch. It will be interesting to see how much of his attitude and play is because of JBB and the other guys, and how much was simply playing with his old buddy Rubio on the second unit. I'm inclined to think it was a lot more Rubio than he'd like to admit, given their success together on the Wolves, and Love's prior history on the Cavs without Rubio. This will be an interesting test of Love's character and commitment to JBB, the Cavs, and the game at this stage of his career. Will things start going south again, and will the outbursts return? Love's legacy is going to depend a lot on how he responds from here on out.

Rubio knew exactly where and when Love wanted the ball. Kevin is a rhythm shooter, and Ricky's timing on pick-and-pops was perfect. They had excellent chemistry.

I'm not sure there's another player on this team who's really going out of his way to get Kevin Love good perimeter looks like Rubio did. We've all seen what happens when Love tries to create something himself - not pretty, even in the low post. He's strictly a spot up shooter these days.

Love and Cedi both are going to see a step back which is going to hurt the team.

A pretty elite spot up shooter this season after a slow start, has been ridiculous from 3 since his covid break. 48%.

He will miss Rubio, it is just that extra understanding of timing and patience in choice of pass, something that is easy to take for granted until it is gone, Rubio's influence is greater than his stats.. Love hasn't had that since Lebron.

In an alternate universe:
A former champion and All-Star, having been written off as scrap-iron and bought out by his exasperated team, has signed with the Lakers and is in Hell.

In this universe:
A properly run franchise has weathered waves of protest and complaint from the fanbase and the endless goading by national media pundits and finds themselves with a talented, stabilizing veteran who contributes significantly and leads by example. He is having the time of his life.

Sometimes it can really pay to sit on your hands, eh?
I wonder how much the Kyrie situation was a learning experience for this team when dealing with Love. Two totally different approaches. We do have to mention, though, that Love was basically untradeable and Kyrie was valued as a premier asset. Either way, patience (plus maybe a little luck) can pay off.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I think even Darius is going to have a problem because Rubio was there to steady him at times

Seems to be a pattern emerging with him that the more mins he plays the less he has to spare on the defensive end. At18-20 mins he was more defensively active, of course still very limited but he was challenging more shots and, and though it might just be confirmation bias, getting back quicker. Of course having Allen or Mobley on the court with him is a hell of a safety valve but they need to keep that balance with Love, not overplay him despite been in the middle of one of the most efficient scoring stretches of his career
