This may be his best season as a Cavalier. It has been a joy to watch him this year.
His 3rd year was pretty damn good but I think it might be the one where he has played with the most freedom. In those years if he started 1-6 as he did last night he might only get a couple of shots the rest of the game, would be standing in the corner hesitant. This team can't afford him to do that, he has to continue to back himself.

Herro might have better raw numbers but Love kills him in the advanced stats, his impact has been elite off the bench, all Star level.

There’s also the impact (which is unlikely to be recognized for 6MOY voting) of Kevin’s leadership and mentorship of the team, especially Allen.

I don’t think Kevin is going anywhere after next season. I thin he’s going to want to play with this team and he’ll re-sign.

After going 1-for-6 with 3 points in the first half JBB challenged him at halftime to believe in himself, stop pump faking, and shoot the ball with confidence. Love took it to heart and went 5-for-9 on 3's in the 2nd half, scoring 22 points after intermission.

JBB deserves a lot of credit for this win. He pumped up Kevin at halftime and he got Cedi out of there.

Well the only way a big man can be useful is if he rim runs, blocks shots to protect the rim and rebounds. Anything else a big does is a waste of a possession that could have been used by a guard or wing to setup a better look on the perimeter. Especially post-ups. The worst thing in basketball. I have no idea how anyone watched basketball before 2013 when it was all post up offenses. Basketball didnt start til the 3 ball became the best weapon

@Ohioplayer00 give this man a spanking

I really hope that is true. And isn't it funny how things can change so quickly? As recently as three or four months ago, I don't think anybody could have seen that coming.

Of course, it can change in the other direction as well. It's still a ways off from the time that Love needs to be re-signed. But if he's interested in sticking around, there is definitely a place for him. They don't win games like last night's without him.

I've long ago given up the delusions of predictability and control. You can't control adults, and I've seen too many people change drastically at all different ages for the better and for the worse.

Who would have thought Kevin, complementary player for years, would take on a Batman mentality?

That said, most people dont change so much and so we all rely on past performance being indicative of future results. But we never know who will change ahead of time.

Woj bomb.
I’ll never forget how happy i was when i saw we got this guy. At the time he was literally my favorite non Cav. Like i literally drafted him 1st in every 2k league even if better players were available, i liked him cause he played like a bruiser Dirk, and i loved seeing him shoot. Getting Bron and Love were probably the happiest Cavs moment Iv had after that series where we beat Detroit in 2007 i think.

In my time watching basketball Love is in my top 5 of guys i want at the FT line for the game. Steve Nash, Love, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan, so many more.

I think the trick is pretending it’s the 1st quarter. If you go up to the line and know it’s for the game you’ll miss. You gotta act like they are normal run of the mill FTs
