So is spell check.

:chuckle:

Look who is too cool for sentences that begin with a subject. Well, nobody likes the grammAr police so I'll just say I had a very realistic dream last night... we traded Love for LeBron before the Christmas game. I was mortified.

I'm glad we are now at a place as a franchise where a Love for LeBron trade pisses me off so much.

He plays 20 mpg. I don’t see how he gets $30m/yr as a bench player.
The cap goes up 12m next year at least. 30m for an elite bench player who is as important as love is won’t be that crazy. Most starters will be between 20-30M.

I don't know - both Mobley and Wade are still on the upward slope of their careers. But the fact that Mobley can also play center helps - they can have Allen, Mobley, Love, and Wade split the 96 minutes at the 4-5 positions. That would come out to about 18 minutes each for Love and Wade and 30 each for Mobley and Allen.
Don’t forget Lopez!

Wade is a 3/4 and we need him more at 3….

I love Love, but if he wants anywhere in the vicinity of 30/year I'm packing his bags and using my own gas to drive him to the airport. Fuuuuuck that.
What other organization has the cap space and would be willing to pay him $30 mill/year?

I could see 2-3 yr deal between $15-20 mill/year similar to what Lauri got from us which is nowhere close to $30 mill/year.

There's no way I consider giving Love $30 million per year. That's outrageous. I like that he has redeemed himself since the start of the 2021 season, but the first few years of his contract extension were a nightmare.

Age is something to consider. He just turned 34. Giving Love a long-term deal is risky business as we learned the last time we gave him a juicy contract.

Would love to have him at 3 years, $50 million. That's the most I'd offer him. He's a good bench player, but keep in mind that this is his contract year. That's probably his motivation.

I’d imagine he wants to be here. 34 years old, a contender, respected and comfortable here. Short flight to NYC.
If he keeps shooting at the clip he’s doing, 2 year 30M plus. Dude is lighting it up from the outside and still rebounds like a beast.
Don’t underestimate what he brings to this team.

Small sample size though it may be, Kevin Love is leading the NBA in defensive rebounding percentage (43.0) and total rebounding percentage (23.1). Precious is second in DRB% at 34.53.

The DRB% mark would be a career high. It would also be the highest mark in NBA history.

No way that holds... Right? (He actually had a similar number in 2018-2019, but played in just 22 games)

This has been a damn good start to the year by K-Love.

To give an idea, Rodman is the all time leader at total revound percentage at 23.4, so Love is in Rodman territory right now, lol

Hmm. When did these total rebound percentage stats start? I find it hard to believe Rodman surpasses Wilt, or Bill Russell or Nate Thurmond.

It's fun to have a quest... Used Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's stats to learn total rebound rate began in 70/71 and the offensive and defensive rebound separation began in 73/74.

Thanks a lot! I knew the 60s giants passed Rodman. It's good to have KAJ covering the gap from the 60s to the modern era.

Total rebound precentage? Yes....Will and Russell played when they shot under 40% and the played at a 35% faster pace, almost twice as many rebounds available in those days.

By advanced stats, not raw numbers, but advanced numbers, Rodman is the greatest rebounder of all time.

Where does Barkley fare in advanced rebounding?
