Not sure why there is talking of a buyout this year. His value is veteran leadership, familiarity with the organization, shooting and rebounding with the second unit. Yes he’s overpaid, but why move an important part this year when the playoff are very achievable for this team, and maybe a second round birth with how they are playing.
Ride this out. Don’t start buying out a guy that’s healthy and contributing in more ways than one.
There will never be a Kevin Love buyout in Cleveland. Any talk is wishful thinking of struggling contenders like the Lakers trying to stir up shit.
The Cavs have been great about maximizing their assets. Kevin Love will either be used in a trade for his salary, or the Cavs will simply keep him here for his production, mentorship and leadership. He is a great fit off the bench. Next season his contract decreases to 28.9million and he will be expiring. He is much more likely to be traded at any point beginning this summer through next years deadline Until then the Cavs will simply use him to help win games! They will only trade him if they feel its a trade that makes the team better or positions them to make a subsequent move by delivering assets or maybe switching him into two different contracts. He may be bought out eventually by whatever team we trade him to but the Cavs arent going to just let Love walk out the door because he gives up a couple million bucks, and i dont think he is interested in giving up any money and is in no hurry to leave. He's comfortable here
