Kevin Love and Bird are both white 6'9 forwards, thats about where the similarities end
Too bad PG wants to be a Laker
He would be welcomed here with open arms
I think we can convince him to join us. He is pretty tight with Bron. And, considering he has yet to be in NBA Finals, nevermind winning one, he would love the chance to be with a genuine contender. LA might be his hometown but Lakers are years apart before they are contenders. And, even then it won't be for the next 5 odd years which would be PG's peak.
The issue is, can we muster up a deal that Bird would accept for PG?
Love + Shump + Picks is the best we can provide, really. Or we do some sort of 3-team trade.

We would be sacrificing rebounding and LeBron would have to make the full-time move to PF, but it would make us a much more balanced and deadly team.I think the guy who would like to be a Cav is probably Jimmy Butler...but his contract isn't up for two more years, and until he is a FA Boston has more to offer than we do.
Would love to see Butler on our team though, even for KLove. Would be a major defensive upgrade for us, actually not so sure how much it improves us on offense but on net it would be a step up.
Butler is also a solid rebounder for his position, although he's not Love.
Even if we do well this postseason I'd like to see us explore that trade
In all honesty, I'd trade either Love or Kyrie if we're getting Butler or George in return. Would probably prefer Butler, but either would be tremendous. Assuming it takes Kyrie to get Butler or George.
It'd be interesting to see how things play out if you make a move like that. I think if you trade Kyrie for Butler or George, you probably make a second move involving Love, no? The question then becomes what can you get in return for Love and what do you need to get in order to make LBJ and Butler work together?
Love for Gallinari and Plumlee? Not sure if that's fair value, but that "small ball" lineup of Shump, Butler, Gallinari, James, and Thompson would be an absolute fucking terror defensively. You'd have to add a PG somehow, probably by trading JR (or Shump) but that shouldn't be a big issue.
Would you roll the dice on Ben Simmons and Philly's 1st for Love? Would create a big trade exception plus a high 1st that you could turn around and use to acquire a vet PG.
