Kevin Pangos. “скатертью дорога”

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, I haven't seen anything from Pangos so far to indicate he is a competent NBA PG. But we're about to get a much larger sample size. I see him starting until Darius comes back and playing 30 MPG. This will give him am ample opportunity to show his skills. If he fails he should be gone soon after Darius returns, perhaps packaged with some combination of Rubio's expiring deal, the injury exception we're getting, some 2nd round picks, and "maybe" Windler to find the guy who will back up Darius for the remainder of this season.

All I can say is, Pangos must do things in practice that the Cavs like and think it’s going to translate to games. I CANNOT think of ANYTHING ELSE!! It is beyond me what they see in this kid. I bet they start Okoro at PG and Valentine at SG just to drive us into alcoholism.

If they do that, they may as well just release Pangos. He's literally the only PG on the roster who is available now. I want him to start and get 30 MPG with the regular rotation guys until Garland returns. I think there's about a 10% chance (maybe less) that he will show something that makes the Cavs NOT automatically look for a competent backup. But the experiment should be tried.

Somehow Pangos got a guaranteed contract which is the reason he is on the roster still. If his contract wasn't guaranteed, I think they would have cut him and shuffled through players to find someone with more NBA potential. If we make a trade, Pangos will surely be added so we don't go over the luxury tax. If they cut him it just lowers the margins we have to stay under the luxury tax.

I think the Cavs front office got turned down by a whole list of players before landing on Pangos and felt it necessary to give him that guaranteed contract so he wouldn't go back to Europe. Using one of the future 2nd round pick might have been worth it to get into the 2021 draft to get a 3rd PG that was younger and most likely would have more potential than Pangos.

Trying to be as fair and hopeful as possible with what little we’ve seen.

Positives: He hasn’t been a turnover machine when in. He does have a very nice feel for getting the ball to guys at the right place and time. His shot looks like it has a chance to go in - I think some will.

Concerns: size and athleticism. JBB has no confidence in him.

If he can keep up physically, I think he can manage the offense and get others some good looks. On defense - let’s hope the team behind him can help.

This dude is lucky I don’t hate him yet.
Does this help PIP?
