Kluber Traded to Rangers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Reading all this stuff about Clase I'm surprised he wasn't ranked a much higher prospect...seems like he has some serious upside.
Deshields is basically just a spot starter, utility guy...like some of you have said they should have dealt Kluber last off season. They dropped the ball on that.
That said I really love the Indians front office and they must have a plan here to maybe invest some of those dollars into a second baseman..have to wait and see.

People just cannot come to grips with Kluber’s value as it relates to his past production.

They’re never going to, just as they’re never going to realize why the Indians don’t spend heavy on free agents.

Hand, Karinchak and Clase along with Wittgren, Hoyt, Perez will make for an interesting bullpen. Much better velo and spin rates coming out of there than in years past.

Testing my faith in the front office, but I will take a wait and see attitude. I love power bullpen arms and now we have a couple plus Hand. Hopefully some money to spenf, too.

Spoiler alert, Indians fans are going to endlessly complain about every single move they make while invoking their personal angst toward the Dolan family.

The Indians, however, likely win 90+ games again and compete for the World Series while the same people convince themselves that each of the Browns moves will unlock their greatness.

I have no problem with the Dolan's or their average (not low) payroll for a small market team, but the rest of the statement unfortunately describes me to a T

When you have multiple teams involved, a player gets dealt for what you perceive is a bad value, then it’s almost 100 percent certain that you’re not valuing the player correctly.

Kluber has been out there, teams weren’t valuing him the same way you guys do.

So you can keep his high price contract and pray that he comes back, or you can go get some value.

DeShields was a .791 OPS vs LHP last year, with plus speed and plus defense.

That’ll play in Cleveland, given their predominantly left-handed OF at the corners.

Will we even keep Hand now? He was rumored to be on the block last year.

Right, we didn't trade Klu-bot. We traded the pitcher who was giving up dingers during his rehab starts in Akron and Columbus. This isn't to say his career is over, but it wasn't projecting positively to return fully to the player he once was.

They better go out and get a guy like Michael Bourn so the fans will come support the team.

Marquee free agents!

Your initial take was also that the return was light.

That’s a really good question, honestly. Can imagine they’re dangling him out there now, but he’s another guy whose value probably isn’t all that great given how he closed out the year.

He was cooked by the end of the year.
