I don't think he should lose his job for this (especially once more details come out), but I will say it puts the organization in an awkward position of how to handle it if a player ever got into a situation like this.

You really have to watch what you drink these days. Craft beers are 6% ABV plus, the servers are told to offer you the tall beer… if you are driving, just get low ABV beers, shorts and only have a couple. Or get an Uber. It’s just not worth it.

Ditka got stopped by the Illinois State Police when the Bears were something like 12-0 in 1985.

Very strong fan reaction.

Illinois State Police were inundated with calls criticizing the Police for arresting Ditka.

Koby you dumb fuck.

I don't think you can or should fire the guy for this. A wild overreaction, in my opinion. It's a bit of an embarrassment for the organization so mandated counseling or whatever is appropriate.

The only possible way they fire him for this is if they were already dissatisfied and looking for an excuse.

OTOH if we wash out in the first round again then he should be fired

I wonder whether the Cavs having a livery service available for employees would violate the CBA.

I’ll never, in 1,000 years, understand why millionaires drive drunk. To them, an Uber costs chump change.

I think it’s that “I had two drinks and I feel basically OK” kind of uncertainty. But two drinks can be more alcohol than you think.

In the last 15 years at least twice I've gone through DUI checkpoints after having 2 drinks with dinner. Both times the officer asked me if I had been drinking, I honestly told them 1 or 2 with dinner, and they waived me through saying be careful and have a good night.

But I'm an old white guy.

FWIW I feel absolutely nothing after 2 drinks most of the time, zero noticeable effect.

As someone mentioned earlier, much depends on what you drank. Eating with alcohol, as you do, can dramatically lower the effects as well.

I'm a 5'2" 135 lb woman. I consume about 2-5 drinks a week on average. On celebratory occasions, I try not to have more than 3 in a given day because 4 is considered binging for women (and with good reason -- hangovers are awful).

But I keep in mind ABV as well. An Oktoberfest beer is about 6% abv on average, but a mai tai is 12%. If I have two main tais, even if I've eaten a meal, I've drunk the equivalent of four beers. Heck to the no (fwiw, I did have two mai tais in an evening once -- never again ugh).

A lot of craft beer these days is more than the standard 5-6 abv as well. A typical ipa is 7% abv. A double ipa is 9-12%. One double ipa in a night is plenty for me, even with a meal.

Bottom line, people have to pay attention to how much food and drink has been consumed to determine the effects, and they also have to take into account their body size. Best bet is to always have a DD or taxi/Uber ready if you're unsure.
