I'm not trying to rehash old arguments, but I'm flat-out amazed by how many overlook how bad the Cavs' culture has been during Koby's tenure.

Don’t you think creating a good culture is why he dumped KPJ? It’s like no matter what he does he can’t win around here.

How so? The cap for this season was based on revenues from the Covid-shortened 2019-20 season. Which mean that teams had less room to take on Drummond at this deadline.

The salary cap stayed flat at 109 million, it didn't decrease because of covid. The reason why expiring don't hold the value they once did is there just aren't as many bad contracts out in the league as there once were. The one time cap explosion create a bunch of bad contracts that have mostly now expired. Teams have gotten smarter about the contracts they give out.

The miscalculation by Koby was how big Drummond's contract was and how many pieces it would take to match his salary. Teams don't have 25-30 million in expirings to match or even expirings and bad contracts to match. I went through looking for teams to take on Drummond before the deadline and alot of the teams that made sense would have to give up valuable players to get him. He just didn't hold the value as a player to give up another valuable player.

If he/they were consistent, sure. But you can't dump KPJ for the culture but brush off K Love having a temper tantrum every few days (sometimes on the court).

Griff seem to be able to smooth out any bumps that came up and probably fixed issues before they ever became public. It just doesn't seem like Koby has been able to do that. That alone could really inhibit building and sustaining good culture.

If we could trade Love for a protected second round pick (that won't convey) he would have been gone long ago.

I may be way off on this, but I wonder if Griffin was respected more internally because he did made decisions and stood behind them, good, bad, or ugly.

With Koby, it's "Dan wanted the Brooklyn pick" and "Dan wanted Love to get paid", and "Beilein was all Dan" - and those things all may be true. But why in the hell would any player respect him or even listen to him when they know the owner has made the calls on the "big stuff" in the past?

So send him the hell home. Or get Fedor to do some hit pieces until he falls in line. The Cavs were happy to drag JR, Drummond, and KPJ through the mud but protect Love at every corner.

Team owes Love $60 million guaranteed. We’re stuck with him.

Oh I am sure they would dump Love if they could. And all reports say Love was very apologetic to the team after the incident slapping the ball. I don’t think we heard any rumors of an apology from KPJ. And finally, one guy helped us win the only Cleveland championship in 52 years so he probably deserves more rope.

Has Koby come out and said any of these claims? Or is it fans speculating who was behind the picks and then claiming Koby has attempted to distance himself from these decisions to manufacture a narrative that he is unwilling to accept responsibility.
