Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

pffffffff ... LeBron on pace for 50...

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

I've seen this before. No one else can score, so LBJ goes off. 36/6/6. On 23 shots. He'll go over 25, people will comment on how we lose when he does, as if it's his fault.

Meanwhile our backcourt continues to suck. They had 8 pts at the end of the half. At the end of 3, they still have 8 pts. Donyell with 2 pts. And Luke looked even worse this quarter.

Better D there in the last 5 minutes of the quarter. Nash with the flop.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

Is Eddie House on the All-Star ballot?

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

^ Not sure. But House sure is destroying our guards tonight.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

The Suns are 13/13 down the stretch.....

CAVALIERS IMPROVED DEFENSE IS NON EXSISTENT....

The fact that we stayed with this team for as long as we did should be considered a MORAL VICTORY...

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

cavs need to make a trade for a REAL SHOOTING GUARD DAMNIT!

The cavs will go 0-6 on this road trip.

Well, no one else stepped up. Damon Jones with 5 pts, Snow with 6, Jackson and Newble with 0, Marshall with 7 late points on 3-11 shooting. We got the ball to Z, who played extremely well, we got to the line (not as much as we should have in the second half) and we shot well from the line (93%).

Look at their guards' numbers. Marion was very good, but their Nash, Bell, House and Barbosa killed us. To be fair, we were playing the best offensive team in the league. We had some good defensive spurts (late 3rd, early 4th) but started giving up the 3's and the penetration again, and when a team is this good offensively, there's no room for mistakes.

I'm starting to turn against Donyell now, too. Grrr.

Not a good game for the "Start Luke Jackson" campaign.

I dont feel too bad about this loss. The Suns have been playing great, and we played them tough for 48 minutes. If their shooters werent on fire, and if someone else wouldve stepped up with Z and LeBron, we could have won. I like the effort in this game.

Z was awesome. LeBron was awesome. Just got beat by a better team tonite on their home floor. No worries mates. We can still win 3 of 6 on this trip.....

Not a great night defensively. Cavs were bad on rotations all night. The pick and roll the Suns ran repeatedly killed the Cavs late in the 4th before Brown finally made an adjustment.
Gooden gave critics of his D plenty of ammunition last night as he failed to rotate all night before getting hurt.
Poor perimeter D last night too. Jones' D is as pathetic as McInnis' was last year.

LeBron was huge last night. Great game. Z was the only other Cav to show up offensively.
In the 3rd quarter the Cavs got back into their old habit of standing around and watching on offense with little movement. When that happens Brown has to get them out of that.

Luke Jackson didn't exactly step up last night. He was alright in the 1st half despite the missed shots but played poorly in the 2nd half. Brown still has to stick with him. Young players getting more minutes for the 1st time will have struggles occasionally. With continued minutes those will become less and less. Jackson has to score and hit some shots though if he wants to continue to play.

D'Antoni is a hell of a coach for the Suns. He loses J. Johnson, Richardson and Amare has yet to play and the Suns don't miss a beat. I don't know if anyone else could get guys like Diaw, Bell, J. Jones and House to produce like he has.

Cavs have to win in Portland tonight. It's the most winnable game on the road trip.
