I'll be waiting...I religiously follow John Hollinger...So as I await for those dynamic results, I will remain here quivering with anticipation...

My take is as follows...

Up and down game...3/5 of our starting lineup play as if they are stuck in gum on most nights.. Z/DJ/Snow..

Steve Nash runs around all game... With our late rotations (if we even rotate, as we still struggle with this) it doesn't make for a recipe of success with our squad...We barely rotate within the interior (they're just now starting to get this) ...Having to rotate and switch everything along the perimeter might just be too much for a couple of our mental midgets...

But that is not what scares me about this game.. What scares me is the following:

Eric Snow has guarded the best perimeter player since Larry has been down (and even before Larry went down-->Vince Carter)... The problem with Snow guarding nash is not from preventing him to score, like he has done with these other guards.. But, to prevent him from making the pass...Much harder.

Snow will be on top of his game defensively, he usually always is, and I have no reason to doubt he won't be tonight.....I can't say the same for LeBron, and god knows Damon Jones will not be on top of his game defensively...

Guys like Raja Bell and James Jones should be able to carve us up...

The fact that Drew has to step out on Boris Diaw is scary... Although Diaw is the center, I could not imagine Mike Brown sticking Z on him out there...

Then there is Shawn Marion.... Who excactly is going to keep him off the glass ? Not to mention guard him on the perimeter and his drive ? ...

Hell, even Eddie House is a scary matchup for this team....

Perhaps I am completely off, and the Cavs will blow those guys out ? Like I said earlier, I hope they do.... I just don't see it... If I am wrong ? I will come on here later and say I was wrong...

All I can ask for in this game is to at least stay competitive...

Now that's the LePip preview style we're all looking for! (This was just a plot by Karma to get you to write more.)

Anyway, I agree about not being able to shut down Nash's passing and Raja Bell. Not sure about the rest. I think we can handle Marion. Bell honestly is who scares the crap out of me tonight. He'll be open the entire time unless Jackson can stick with him, which I kind of doubt.

It was just so much easier and less time cosuming to say 2% :chuckles:

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

cavs need to start playing some D! 33-31 after 1 despite the suns 71%! 9-10 from the stripe.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

1st Quarter Notes

Not bad. Attacking the paint, making FT's (8-9).

RAJA BELL. Even the name sounds terrifying. Everyone involved. Not sure their supposedly improved D, though, except a few nice individual moments. Suns with 75% shooting.

Gooden solid on offense but weak on the D. Diaw blew by him on that curl. LBJ not so hot on the D, either.

Z can get anything he wants against Mr. Kurt f-ing Thomas. Must exploit this matchup.

Luke had some nice passes but his own shots were poorly selected. Still looks slow and out of place to me on defense. A total of, I think, 2 points from our backcourt.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

Holy cripes, did I just see Damon Jones drive to the hoop? OH MOMMA THE WORLD IS ENDING!

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

they cant possible shoot 70% from the field all game. :(

Cavs are letting them Cali.... It's hard to miss layups...Raja Bell is scorching from the perimeter though.....

I'm completely shocked that after two quarters of basketball, it's a one possession game...

Kudos to the Cavs for staying competitive

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

they had a stat earlier in the game which had the cavs with 11 second chance points and the suns with none.

of course, you have to miss to have second chance points. :chuckles:

one thing we have going for us are the fouls. they have 4 players with 4 fouls, and if thomas gets his 3rd and 4th early in the third quater than Z is going for 40.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

At the half, down 59-57. The Suns finally cooled off a LITTLE. They're getting too many open looks off of screens or easy drives to the basket. Raja Bell with 15 pts. We're not stopping Nash's passes. He's already got 7 assts.

Damon Jones looks lost on D as usual. Luke blew an easy layup. Bad passes, sloppy play. A total of 8 pts from our back court. LBJ warming up; he's got 23. Gooden and Z solid offensively, slow defensively (nice 2nd effort by Drew off his miss, though, fighting through 3 Suns). Would be nice if our guards could defend the perimeter. That extra person I hoped for isn't stepping up.

Huh. I see here we had more shot attempts and free throw attempts than Phoenix.

If we ever get a lead, how the hell do we hold onto it? Well, at least we're in it.

I think the most anyone has on the Suns is two fouls. Oh, I see. 4 players with 2 fouls apiece.

Bottom line: we have to keep attacking and hope someone can hit a few outside shots.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

bad stat of the 2nd quarter: no free throws . good thing were hitting open jumpers though... cavs need to get back in transition D!

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

drew pulled a hamstring, bad news. cavs down 8.

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

This is what I invisioned... The real Cavs defense is starting to come out....

I can't watch anymore.... Best of luck to them... They will need it...

Re: 1/14/06 Cavs @ Suns

I agree. Lebron is playing great and DECENT defense, Z is playing good. im tired of tehm only stepping up. i want to see jones marshall luke, wilks, all bring up their level of play.
