I know it’s not the question but I would so trade Allen to Utah for Lauri right now…. Hell take Allen & Okoro.

Do we like Lauri now ?
Always did
Lauri Legend has been playing so damn well dating back to even before he got hurt.

He brings such a unique skill set to our front court, and I think his best days are ahead of him.

I always liked him. I got him in my fantasy league cause I had a feeling he was gonna blow up, after how he played for Team Finland last summer. Lauri’s development and taking his game to the next level is what really pushes the trade heavily in Utah’s favor.

Believing they were near a deal with the Knicks, the Jazz made one final, somewhat outlandish trade demand from the Cavs, fully expecting they would reject it. To their surprise, the Cavs accepted the deal.

That’s not to dismiss Donovan Mitchell, who’s a volume shooter & scorer but who will always be somewhat limited because of his size. Utah really got themselves a fantastic deal, just as they did for Rudy Gobert and, more recently, John Collins. I love what the Jazz are building.

We’d be the worst defense on the planet, but we’d be fun to watch

I know I’m on thin ice with this post as the Lauri love has grown since he left us, but with him being hurt the Jazz, who only have 6 total wins, have won 2 of 3. And when you look at their other wins, Lauri has been well below his scoring average in 2 of them. They only have 1 win, way back in October, where he went for more than 30. He can put up big numbers, but I’m not convinced he’s a player that adds many wins to a team.

I actually very much agree, and at SF he is way out of place. I dont hate the guy, Lauri is a fine player, but on our team he is maybe the 4th or 5th best player, when he is your best player, your team isnt very good.

Lauri your 3rd or 4th scorer would be lethal. In my opinion, he would have helped DG and EMs growth by being not as ball dominant and his ability to spread the floor would have been more helpful as well. Not saying they'd have won as many games last year, but always going to wonder what if?

Lauri is not a floor raiser. He may be a ceiling raiser but I think he is really a solid neutral guy. I'd love to have him but he was certainly worth the price for DM

You can't tell me with a straight face that a 7 foot sniper shooting 38%+ from 3 wouldn't contribute to winning here; he already did. He is 100% the perfect compliment to either Allen or Mobley, clearing out the paint for them. Cavs could use Allen for 25 minutes and night and watch him be fantastic for the whole year. Y'all sucking down the copium with this. Maybe JBB would have never been able to unlock all this with Lauri, but that's no excuse to act like he couldn't have been a big part figuratively and literally of this team winning right now.

And Utah's results are because of several factors: 1. They are tanking, 2. Tank Commander is back for them (Colin), 3. The team is starting Jordan Clarkson at PG, 4. Walker Kessler has not been as good or hurt so far, was the perfect compliment to a score first PF last year and 5. They are actively tanking. Winning 2 with Lauri out was probably an accident.

Yes, Lauri would be perfect in our front court rotation, but thats not the point. Right now he is the leading scorer on a bad Utah team. Lauri would be pissed if traded to a place where he is no longer the starter, i dont see the point, it will cost a lot and he isnt a starter in cleveland unless we trade a starter.

Would I rather have Lauri than Niang? Ofcourse, but he doesnt fit in anymore with the current construction, and tearing down the team to add him back just doesnt seem like the right move either,

I like what Strus brings to the team more than what Lauri did. The fact that we sold high on Lauri and got Mitchell in return is kinda crazy in retrospect.

Lauri seemed to me to be the third big - the succession plan for Kevin Love's creaky back.

When Tower City worked, it was a stroke of inspired luck. Lauri had only shown flashes of perimeter defense mobility, typically looking like a liability dating back to his college career at Arizona. In fact, Lauri's defensive win shares hit an all time high with the Cavs, most likely because Frobley cleaned up his messes. This season, Lauri is off to his career worst defensive win shares.

I am not ready to say Georges is better than Lauri as a third big man, but the trade isn't as bad as some make it out to be.

Porter jr will play bench unless there is another injury

Sorry but comparing Niang to Lauri is absolutely insane
