It’s a high ankle sprain. 6-8 weeks normally. So sometime in March. Right after the ASB if it happens to be a milder case. But get ready for 15-20 games without the Finn. Going to be a very tough stretch for the Cavs. No margin for any more injuries at this point. But this is why I expect them more than ever to add a piece w Rubios contract. Such a shame that injury to Ricky was.
Is the high ankle sprain diagnose stated somewhere other than they suspected in the beginning the injury to be that?

At least I cannot find anything definitive about that.... From Fedors piece: "Lauri Markkanen is sidelined indefinitely because of a sprained ankle suffered during Saturday’s win against Oklahoma City. Markkanen walked out of the arena Monday night on crutches and in a walking boot. The Cavs don’t have a specific -- or general -- timeline for his absence. They first want to see how the swelling subsides over the next few days. But multiple sources estimated it will be a couple weeks minimum."

I think no official diagnosis has been made public yet, and all the unofficial diagnoses are pure speculation and hear-say based on what people saw when he injured the ankle. I have yet to see anything definitive.

True because when Okoro and Mobley got hurt they came out almost immediately and put 2 to 3 weeks timeline on there injuries……I’m still guessing he probably be out for sure the rest of this week if for nothing else out of causing

Sources saying a couple of weeks minimum surely sounds about right. Then if it's close to the all-star break they might decide to extend it until after the break to make sure it's had plenty of time to heal. The track record of how the organization handles injuries indicates they are taking the most cautious route so far. That would be close to 4 weeks.

Yeah, I'll be absolutely shocked if he's back in less than a month.

lauri was walking fine in the bucks game with no limp. i think that he'll be back in a week or two.

In the next 32 days, which includes the All-Star break, the Cavs play only 12 games and just two of them are against teams that currently have a winning record (Charlotte and Philly).

Markkanen's injury couldn't have come at a better time. The Cavs will be able to give him all the time he needs and keep on winning. The schedule for the next month is light and easy.

Wade is from rural Kansas - that would require non-stop Coors Light and a chicken fried steak.
So when we look for our next super tall three point specialist we need to search desolate landscapes? Kinda like Tatooine?

If its 20 games we have the following schedule:

Milwaukee
@Pistons
Pelicans (B2B)
@Rockets
@Hornets
Pacers
Spurs
@Pacers
@76ers (b2b)
@Hawks
@Pistons
Wizards
T-Wolves
Hornets
@76ers
Raptors
@Pacers
@HEAT
@Bulls (B2B)
Clippers

That's 6.5 weeks. If he misses more we're gonna see the Lakers, Nuggets, 76ers again, Bulls, Mavs & Hawks.

We gott get a starting caliber 3 ASAP. Regardless of how any of us feel about Wade, he should not be playing heavy minutes & when he does our depth takes a hit.
Random notes:

Our schedule looks like some dweeb at the NBA offices said, "hey, why don't we make the Cavs play the Pacers all season long and sprinkle a few non-Pacers games here and there?"

That first 76ers game should not be on a back to back. That is the first meeting of the season and has potential to be really good. Wish we had Lauri for it.

I think Lauri is the easiest one to replace in the SL because of Wade. Okoro next as Stevens is pretty good too

As long as the core 3 and K Love are there, Wade does well as a fill in for
Laurie - and in some instances may even be an upgrade for defense. But if any of our scorers are missing, we miss Laurie’s willingness to take shots. I’m too lazy to research it, but my recollection is that we generally win when Wade starts with the rest of the normal starters.

Well that, plus the other three starters are way better than Mark and Ice.
