Leadership Specialist Tyrod Taylor

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep. UFA next year. Still draft your QB and all is well in the world.

So the third rounder turned into Taylor, we are in wait-and-see mode with which pick turned into Landry (probably either 101 or 123).

Tyrod Taylor the bridge QB sits a whole lot better with me than Tyrod Taylor as the future of the franchise. He takes a lot of hits, but his teammates love him. I think he settles a little too much for check down throws and taking off running, but with Njoku and now Landry on the roster I can deal with some dink and dunk while the #1 pick gets his feet wet. Duke is going to feast off Tyrod's last second dump offs to the running back.

What a day so far!

Tyrod is a guy that the advanced stat nerds love.

I think he could be someone who can blossom with good skill talent around him.

He's going to be playing behind the best O-Line he's ever had, throwing to the best pair of receivers he's ever had and in a year where he's playing for a contract.

I think it's a good match and for a reasonable price.

We have 5 picks in the top 35 and set records for most draft picks the past two years.

I'm extremely unconcerned about giving up a third round pick for rock solid, mistake-free QB play.

I’ve long thought Tyrod is one of the most under appreciated quarterbacks in the NFL.

I’ve posted before how much I like him, and I know @Los216 is also a fan.

He’s a pro bowl QB who just took a mediocre team to the playoffs.

He’s only 28 and he takes care of the rock.

Last 3 seasons over 89.0 QB rating.

Since 1999, the Cleveland Browns haven’t had a QB with a significant amount of starts give us at least an 82.5.

He’s the perfect bridge.

Now, for #65 considering that Buffalo talked about cutting him? Ah, a little high.

But that’s ok. We didn’t overpay for Foles and we didn’t sign some ridiculous contract for McCarron or Keenum.

Tygod!

Yea I thought we were almost a lock for AJ and it wasn't going to cost any draft picks.

I'd rather use a third on a QB we know can play in the NFL at a decent level than waste a roster spot kicking the tires on AJ McCarron, who I don't think will ever amount to anything other than a low-end starter at best.

Does this say anything about the upcoming draft? That they don't think the guy they want is ready from day 1?

That's true. It also gives the front office a fighting chance in free agency. At least now they have a QB and WR to sell to free agent.
