Leadership Specialist Tyrod Taylor

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Does this say anything about the upcoming draft? That they don't think the guy they want is ready from day 1?

That's what I am thinking, screams Darnold or Josh Allen to me. Hope its not Allen.

If there are tea leaves to be read, the only logical leap is that we like a guy who needs development (Darnold, Jackson, Mayfield, Allen).

It would seem to hint at Rosen not being considered, as I would suspect they would just play him immediately and retain the draft asset.

Or it could just be that we really like Tyrod and are giving him an audition with what should be a good offensive group. He’s young enough that he could play in to a contract.

I'd rather use a third on a QB we know can play in the NFL at a decent level than waste a roster spot kicking the tires on AJ McCarron, who I don't think will ever amount to anything other than a low-end starter at best.

Trading a second and third for a bridge QB was always puzzling at best. I'm not going to fart sun rays and turtle doves over a third rounder for Tyrod just yet. He has never used the whole field. Buffalo has a long track record of former Bills receivers having career years after leaving for a more down field passing attack elsewhere. In short, the leadership that Tyrod can potentially bring as a bridge is promising, the cost was likely fair compensation, and the Browns still need to pick a blue chip QB in this draft.

You have a Lamar Jackson, AND a Tyrod Taylor fetish?

The fuck?

My dream scenario since day one. Get Tyrod Taylor and draft Lamar Jackson.

Yeah, that package they were supposedly going to give up for McCarron was borderline criminal, which makes me glad our GM was willing to get himself fired to submarine it. Taylor for a third isn't fantastic value, but it's not terrible either, and it should allow us a bit more flexibility in the draft as well depending on which QB(s) the Browns really like.

I like Tyrod, can't wait to see him as a Brown.

That's was my fear. That this rules out Rosen.

I like Darnold allot too, just hoping not Allen.

With this trade, I could even live with Baker and his stronger than I thought arm after watching him throw.

That's weird to me it actually screams Mayfield at #4. Tyrod is only 6'1..we know Dorsey and scot both like mayfield...both low turn over guys.. guessing Baker could take a lot from Tyrod.

am i the only one that doesnt think the trade for Taylor means anything as far as who the browns are targeting in the draft?

the browns needed a legit bridge/back up QB and there wasnt one on the roster, so they went out and got one.

It means nothing.

Anyone trying to convince themselves they’re now targeting one guy over another are tilting at windmills.

It should be noted that Tyrod Taylor was our top target last offseason. BUF just wasn't willing to let him go but he was at the top of our list. I was told he was the guy we wanted to be our starter last season. This was before the Osweiler trade.

He says, his dreams of Josh Rosen slowly dying.

:chuckle:
