If the Cavs put in minimal commitment to improve this offseason, I cannot see him staying in Cleveland. I wouldn't if I were him; it wouldn't be worth it....
LBJ came back to Cleveland to fulfill his promise_ a promise he fulfilled for his hometown in 2016. However, vicissitudes in life are full of surprises as the Cavs were riding on their laurels fooling themselves into the 2017 fiasco which brought the overwhelming and shameful defeat to GSW.
The Cavs in this playoffs will need some strong words of motivation from all quarters in and outside Cleveland to bring out the best of HOOD, HILL, CLARKSON & OSMAN (WELL THESE 2 GUYS HAVE THE "KILLER INSTINCT" - NO NEED OF EXTRA MOTIVATION), NANCE, PERKINS, SMITH, THOMPSON, ZIZIC, et., al.
I believe they are potentially a very strong team which need a catalytic converter towards attaining the needed metamorphosis to soar high in the playoffs and finals.
TY LUE has to fill in that gap if he can motivate these guys & teach new tricks for the playoffs especially on the defense and play for the threes concerning K-KORVER, K-LOVE, & JR-SMITH _ I mean, these three guys must be helping themselves together to make anyone of them to be free for a clear shot and break the defense for LBJ and Nance (or name it you have it) to attack the basket in a pick and roll.
James and Love has always been good as contingents to the Cavs team - Cavs will not be Cavs without them. Stop looking at Cavs as a bad team right now. There will be surprises as indicated by their capabilities to rise to the occasion even if 30 plus starter five combinations are being adopted or employed.
Too, much choices and talents that abound and are at play at Cavs right now is just somehow confusing but not hopeless. Cavs would have easily made the 3 - 1 lead over Pacers had they not wasted things every 3rd quarter and 4th quarter of each game as they battle through.
We will have to understand the difficulty Le Bron and injured Love is undergoing right now given a very short period to gel their team into a great contender for the 2018 finals.
I expect a tight competition between Philly and the Cavs as this series close for the eastern conference should the Cavs learn fast and gel quickly. The Cavs is a great team believe me!
LEBRON has more reason to stay at Cleveland as he showed to us that he always wanted challenge. He is no doubt greater than Michael Jordan considering the path he is taking.
