Kuzma was pretty good offensively for most of the season, imo. He was averaging 19/6 on 56 TS% in 53 games before the all-star break. Then there was all the trade drama and he was playing through a hip injury, which I think partially led to the drop in his numbers after the break. For reference, Tatum was averaging 16.5/6 on 55.7 TS% before the break. Of all the young Lakers players he's the one I wanted them to keep most because he fits best with LeBron. We'll see which Kuzma is the real one when it comes to his 3 pt shooting - 37% rookie year, 30% second year.
Hey Baller, are you a Lakers fan? I thought you said you werent but that post makes it seems like you are?? I am trying to figure out who you are actual team is.

Not really, I just want LeBron to do well. I never really had a favorite team growing up because none were nearby, so I rooted for LeBron.

That's because MJ had a team that won 55 games and nearly got to the Finals without him...while he was taking 2 years off to pursue a baseball career, that is.

More shit takes, please.
bUt kYrIe wOn 55 gAmEs wItHoUt hIm wItH tHe CeLtIx...

@Joe Charboneau how many Lakers games did you watch this past season?

You literally called facts "wrong" on the last page, so you must have watched every minute they played.

I didnt say they were wrong, i said i dont know how they come up with those stats. Look, clearly there are a few of you that have a deep rooted love for Lebron that will never be broken and you are rooting for him to win multiple rings to close out his career in the great city of LA. To each his own. Like i said before though, his defense is a running joke across the entire NBA, so its not something i just pulled out of my ass. Anyway, i am done with this topic, its getting tired.

LOL so you watched zero games (which was obvious) and try to lamely save face by contorting this into a "LeBron fan bash" discussion.

But hey, so glad to see that you're (finally) done with this topic!

I am not a Lebron hater, but not a Laker fan, I am a Cavs fan only. So I will add in my 2 cents.

Last year in Cleveland Lebron payed zero defense, it was an embarrassment and where the rep came from. First year as a Laker he tried most of the time before the injury. He was trying to lead a not so great team to the playoffs and were in the hunt until the injury. He had no choice but to play both ends if he wanted to make it and he knew it. I wouldnt say he was playoff Lebron, but he was a plus defender before the injury.

With one of the best rim protectors in the league, we might see Lebron coast more on that end this year, but I did watch some Lakers games as a basketball fan and I was annoyed to see him actually attempt defense for them but couldn't be bothered to do that for the Cavs.

One thing we need to clear on Lebron, i still think he is a hell of a basketball player. I have never said he isnt. I do not like his antics behind the scenes, or his personality anymore. I want nothing more than for the whole LA thing to fail. Mainly for those entitled LA fans than even him. As far as his skills, offensively there is still nobody better. Maybe his defense isnt as bad as i have made it out to be, but when it is bad, its REALLY bad and noticeable. Thats my take on Mr. James.

If his defense was a running joke across the entire NBA then players would try to match up against Lebron since he'd be easy to score on. But, they don't do that. You may not have "pulled it out of your ass", but you did repeat the same debunked takes that Twitter trolls use all the time.

Its funny how guys like you ignore my posts where i actually give Lebron props. Keep hammering on the post where i say anything negative about the King. Look, i understand he is your favorite player, and you root for him, but its not a crime for people to see faults in Lebrons game. Its like anyone that says anything negative about Lebron, like clockwork you will find some way to argue what that guy is saying. I just recanted and said maybe his defense isnt as bad as i originally said. You ignored that though. I just fiind it a little odd, a guy who isnt a Cavs fan but hangs out in a Cavs fan Lebron section. What do you expect in here? I appreciate him getting us a title but in my mind him leaving twice kind of ruins it to some degree. As for me repeating some Twitter troll stuff, i dont even know what you are talking about.

I'm talking about the "Lebron plays no defense, he's a joke on that end" takes. No unbiased person who watched the Lakers play last year would come away with that conclusion. We've given you the statistics. We've given you the videos. Yet you reject them outright without providing anything to back up your position other than "it's a running joke across the NBA".

You said "Maybe his defense isn't as bad as I have made it out to be, but when it is bad, its REALLY bad and noticeable." That's not much of a retraction. I mean, yeah people are going to hammer on the "negative" when it isn't backed up with evidence.

Come on man, dont talk like there is this army behind you. Its you and so far one other guy. "We've". Thats a good one. I am not the type of poster to post all kinds of advanced stats, it just isnt me. I dont know what kind of retraction you are looking for. I mean if you want me to say he was Ben Wallace or Gary Payton last year, it isnt happening. When the Lakers were on here, especially early in the season when Lebron was actually playing, from what i saw, his defense didnt look that good. I did not see him locking up the other teams best player. Like i said before, i saw him standing around doing nothing. Maybe as the season went on it improved, i did not watch as much Lakers later in the season. Thats about as much of a retraction as i can give you.

Now you will come back and say, well then you didnt watch much Lakers then and this just keeps going round and round. I guess you want to prove and for people to say Lebron is a really good defender while still being the best in the game offensively in what will be his age 35 season. Are you going to keep this up when Lebron really starts to break down?

@Joe Charboneau it's a really lame take to take someone pointing out statistics as "deep rooted love for Lebron that will never be broken."

It's just a poor post overall, and that type of generalization and lack of substance behind an actual argument is weak. We try to be better than that on this forum when having legitimate discussions backed up by evidence.

Talking solely about what you saw while ignoring actual evidence that you self-admittedly don't understand doesn't add much to a discussion. Doubling down on that and claiming that because someone suggested there's plenty of evidence to support that LeBron is still a very capable defender they must only care about him winning is just very poor farm. You're entitled to your opinion, but you're not entitled to trying to generalize other people who make points against your own.

I think you can do a lot better. That's all.

So Baller posts Lebrons advanced stats, and yeah, they look ok. Then you google Lebron James defense and you see about 50 different articles about how bad it is.by legitimate writers, not Twitter trolls, seriously, what gives here? Either the advanced stats dont tell the real story or all these guys writing articles are wrong. If someone can explain to me why there is huge discrepency between the stats and what all these guys are seeing id like to hear the explanation for it.

I am just going to ignore, the " lame, weak, lame" stuff because you are also entitled to your opinion.
