I think the defense figures it out. Myles, Harrison, and Ward are the only old faces. They'll eventually come together and be consistently on the same page. We saw flashes.

Stefanski though...

The Browns offense got whatever they wanted all game, but with it all on the line, we saw he doesn't trust Baker Mayfield. Baker has no say in changing the play. That 1st down play, you just knew there was gonna be no gain. If Baker had some pull, he audibles to a different play. We lost the game because we folded to the strength of the opposing defense. Chargers stacked the line, Browns still ran it, now it's 2nd and long. Then you wanna pass... incomplete. Then the 3rd and 9 call of showing zero belief in your franchise QB that is looking for a pay day. And you submit to the defense again.

Only if they ran a play action quick pass to Hunt or Hooper, then set up a 2nd and short. This was a terrible game to lose, because statistically, we had no business losing. Coaching and refs lost a very good game for us.

In 5 games, we’ve blown 2 different double digit leads in the second half. Impressive.

One thing about last season that kind of flew under the radar was how many big leads the Browns blew in the 2nd half of games. It wasn't discussed much because the Browns ended up winning all those games anyway, but there were a handful that got way too close.

This season, we are actually losing those games. Stefanski gets way, way too conservative when he has a lead. It's definitely a thing with him and hopefully he'll adjust now that we are actually losing those games.

What is going on with the secondary? Have we gone two cosecutive series this year without somebody getting hurt? The line is nice when Clowney is back, but we have one impact LBer and a secondary that takes turns being injured all freaking day. I’m cutting Woods zero slack because I think he’s been pretty much awful, but I’m not sure we can beat the 3 or 4 elite offenses in the AFC when you never have the same personnel in the back.

The whole team is paper mache. Theres a few iron men in there, but I always feel like half our team is injured.

It really hurt not having Ward and Newsome out there. AJ and Greedy gave their best and made some good plays but they are outmatched talent-wise. MJ Stewart and JOK got hurt at some point too. Troy Hill seemed banged up.

We are really thin at corner now. Injuries are really hitting the position group hard for whatever reason.

Pretty confident we’re 3-3 heading into Denver on TNF.
That game is in Cleveland, by the way.

But, yeah. Not sure how we're stopping Arizona's offense, especially with all our damn injuries.

Gonna need the offense to not shit the bed at the end of the game again.

Also, impartial officiating would go a long way.

Kyler Murray had a shoulder issue today. He was not great but it’s something to keep an eye on.

Bah. Silly rabbit. Shoulders, schmoulders. Shoulder injuries don't matter with quarterbacks.

Definitely not where we want to be in week 6, but I agree it is where we’ll find ourselves.

Hopefully the team gets healthy and takes off from there.

Woods has not been awful. Last season and games 1 and 2 of this year, sure I can see an argument for that. But today I can’t really say Woods was the cause of the defensive issues.

When the kicker missed making it 42-41, I pretty much knew we were toast. A tie game and Stefanski doesn't sit on the fucking ball with 3 minutes left. I blame this loss on the idiotic PI call and Stefanski going brain dead in the 4th quarter.

That's 2 years in a row this team loses a critical game 47-42.

I definitely noticed the issues with Stefanski after game 1. And of course was blasted and laughed at on the forum when I said the Browns looked like a team that wasn’t top tier. Well who’s laughing now?

We have a mediocre QB. Our HC is good until the situations become tight and high leverage. Our defense is wildly inconsistent. The secondary still is not good. Our punter sucks ass. Pass rush disappears when it is needed most.

This team is lucky to make the playoffs in the AFC. As I said after week 1, it may take 11 wins to get in. I have us around 10-7, first round exit this year if we get in. Good that they are competitive but please stop with your SB dreams. Not with this team.
