Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We had 15 turnovers, they had 5..

We had 80 FGA, they had 92..

Honestly, what’s you expect? We played like shit in the second half. Good job, Lue.

We need a more athletic defense that poses extra length and helps us on glass. I’ve stated mynlersonal belief previously, we should be rolling out:

TT
Green
LeBron
Korver/Cedi
JR

It’s time to bury Hill back on bench. Let’s go long, increase rebounding, and get more athletic.

I’d also get really frisky and go:

Love
Green
LeBron
JR
Korver

Issue is obviously how much Boston attacks Korver/Love on Pick N Roll

I'm actually thinking about the NBA as a whole right now and what their future is.

I assume our time is up, and while LeBron is dominant, the best player in the league? There is no way he can defeat that juggernaut unless it's smashed into a million pieces.

It's pretty much going to be the Celtics V. 76ers in the east, then whomever -that- is going to be will be the sacrificial lamb for the Warriors.

That's it. That's the future of the NBA in the short term.

Remember those finals where the Lakers or Spurs would just demolish an inferior eastern conference opponent, and people would be bored during it? that's it.

That league is fucked.

It’s better than getting swept in the finals to GSW. Trust me. For everyone you listed

Yep, that's why I'm not getting too exercised about the Cavs being in this position against a relatively mediocre Celts team... the buzzsaw is coming in the 2018 finals. It was coming as soon as July 2016 happened.

Honestly.

What a couple of WEAK bitches Draymond and Durant were after that happened.

Literally pulled a thanos on the entire NBA.

Fwiw I think we'll even up this series but even if we get to the finals I'm not sure what people are expecting. We're a poor match up against any team with speed or athleticism. I keep wondering how we let it come to this.

Who builds an unathletic 'contender' in the year 2018???? Koby tried his best to salvage it but those players unfortunately didn't pan out.

?
In my post I had Kyrie staying , the other picks we made outside of Kyrie were the problem. I'm saying outisd elf Kyrie we drafted horribly while the Warrior drafted well. That along with much better coaching/system is why when we got Lebron we were only one of the better teams in the league, while once the Warriors got Durant they became the best team in the league by a decent margin. I'm not sure I get your point

Not sure what this is responding to in my post.
The Cavs drafted poorly outside of Kyrie, this is known.
Tristan should have been Klay.
Dion should have been Drummond.
Anthony Bennett could have been GIANNIS, Oladipo, Porter, McCollum.... in retrospect, there was no clear "star" but so many out of that top 10, including Trey freakin' Burke have turned out better than Anthony Bennett did. The only positive he had was to be part of that Kevin Love trade, same as Wiggins (who is basically Dion, the forward version).

Cavs missed on so many stars, and only hit one. And that one they had, that was the other reason besides LeBron they have a title....was GIFTED to a team in conference because they screwed up earlier. All because Kevin Durant broke the league and they thought another wing would bring them over the top.

Meanwhile, the Cavs are struggling against the very team to which Kyrie was traded, a team the Cavs used to SMOKE when Kyrie was on the team, looking like they did in 2010. And Kyrie isn't even playing on the Celtics right now.

Thus making the Kyrie trade the WORST OF ALL TIME.

Watch the Celtics take those buttholes in Golden State to 7 games.

That trade is the precursor to a blow up.

Ive said a million times, who makes a trade with your biggest rival? Never seen that in all of sports.

This doesn't really defeat the point you're trying to make, but Boston isn't our biggest rival (Golden State is/was.)

As much as I hate to say it, we won't win this series. Having doubts we can win any games right now. How things change.
If LBJ flies and we suck I'll move on too for the most part. I follow the home town teams "when contending". I haven't watched 10 hrs of the Browns in ten years. Life is too short, I have other ways to spend my time.
The celtics have put together a balanced team. I still kind of think in the Ainge way he'll do to another team what they did to us. This time he'll trade a damaged Kyrie in for another top player.
We still have hope though, if LBJ stays and he may. We can still contend with a better mix. Plenty of dead weight on our bench right now.

I agree but where are sports fans going to go? NHL doesn’t appeal to many. MLS is well........MLS. I must admit, I kinda watch little NBA during the season and usually only watch the Cavs in the playoffs after a couple games. But I agree, the league is not looking good.

I'm not following that logic.

Kyrie aside, the Celtics we are playing right now are not the same team the Cavs steamrolled last year. Their young guys have a much more prominent role this year, and Smart is a far better two way player than IT - or Kyrie.

The fact that our current squad kicked the shit out of the Celtics with Kyrie during the season, while the Celtics have kicked our ass twice without Kyrie, suggests that perhaps Kyrie's true two-way impact may not be as big a positive as some may believe.
