This fanbase is ridiculous sometimes. It is impossible to come on the board after a loss as it is apparently Sexton, Garland, Okoro, Koby, JBB, Love, Nance, Stevens, and everyone else's fault. Newsflash. This team is young and not super great. Sometimes we lose badly. The overreactions are incredible. One game means literally nothing. Everyone (besides LeBron) has bad games. It happens. And for the young guys, you cannot project what they will look like in 5 years from 1-1.5 seasons. Everyone needs to just calm down and let the process work itself out.

As much as I love Hinkie and the Process, glad it didn't happen here or everyone would've pulled out all their hair with Hollis Thompson, young RoCo, and Henry Sims...

It's a rant thread. It's not supposed to be rational. Problem is that every thread is turning into a combination of a rant thread and losing KPJ is a disaster and we can't get past it thread.

Here is a version of my thoughts:

If Okoro is a miss Altman does deserve to be tossed. They'd need to blow the rebuild up and start over.

One gets the feeling, and this is not just a post-loss gripe, that no matter how good Sexton gets he was never going to be a foundational player here because he is too small. It was never going to work sort of thing. Unless he all of a sudden developed into a real PG.

For it to work, it requires both Sexton and Garland to not only be plus defenders, but top tier defenders.

That is an unrealistic ask and expectation.

Moreover, Sexton is not worth what he'll command here. Garland is the keeper of the two, so far as I can see.

My other version is that Sexton is young, and a hard worker and will overcome his stature.

And that both he and Garland will be good enough at defense.

And that they should get a high lotto pick this year and tie the team together with that mythical franchise player.

Things can happen quickly.

Well we always have the worst +/- in the league and we do currently, is it really that hard to build a team that's at least competitive in the East.
The Sexton/Garland combo wont work unless one comes off bench.
I'm usually pretty patient with rookies and try not to judge until year 2 but Okoro has been incredibly underwhelming especially on defense and although he was my preferred choice at 5 im not the one getting paid millions to get it right.

KPJ stuff is dumb. He literally sabotaged his career here. I think this front office sucks but that specific move? I mean, what else do they do? The locker room was done with him, he wasn’t doing any of the things being asked of him, just is what it is.

I’d rather focus on how this front office just drafted a guy in the top 5 that will be lucky to still be in the league when his rookie deal is up. We somehow drafted a wing, in the modern NBA, that can’t score or shoot.

Not too mention the BKN pick/Luka. That 2017-2018 BKN roster should have had a way worse record than they did and it screwed us how much they overachieved.

Now that said, early returns indicate that we missed on Haliburton, who could have been ours. Have a hard time railing against Garland simply because I don’t think anyone taken behind him is all that yet, so I’m seeing the 2019 draft as just bad outside of the top 4.

There‘s my rant for the night. Too excited about first day of NFL FA tomorrow to get much angrier than the above.

Shouldn't have to always depend on top 2 or 3 picks to bail us out. Good management like Utah, Denver, SA, etc gets it done. It's possible. I honestly have 0 faith in Koby, Dan, and others to find a star. LeBron -2003, Kyrie -2011, besides those 2 Allstars, who else, Z -1996, do we count Boozer? Boobie had a brief moment.

There's no faith in our organization minus the most obvious pick in the room.

Kevin Love is an incredible waste of $30mil a season.

All our draft picks have major flaws to their games, we desperately need to be given a superstar by the NBA or we will continue being a bottom 5 team.

OKC are openly trying to tank in a much harder conference and are a lot better than us.
