It seems as if the Cavs give up more open 3s than any team, right? So how is this possible? I copied and pasted this from an article on cleveland dot com.
According to shot-tracking data from NBA.com, the Cavaliers entered Tuesday’s matchup allowing 14.7 “wide-open” 3-point attempts per game -- no defender within six feet. It’s the third fewest such looks of any team in the NBA. Opponents shoot 39% percent on those. In terms of “very tightly-contested” triples -- defender 0-2 feet away -- Cleveland opponents have the seventh-best mark.
You would think we give up the 3rd MOST wide open looks. Kind of baffling....
