Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It seems as if the Cavs give up more open 3s than any team, right? So how is this possible? I copied and pasted this from an article on cleveland dot com.

According to shot-tracking data from NBA.com, the Cavaliers entered Tuesday’s matchup allowing 14.7 “wide-open” 3-point attempts per game -- no defender within six feet. It’s the third fewest such looks of any team in the NBA. Opponents shoot 39% percent on those. In terms of “very tightly-contested” triples -- defender 0-2 feet away -- Cleveland opponents have the seventh-best mark.

You would think we give up the 3rd MOST wide open looks. Kind of baffling....

Metrics have trouble showing that the guys we have contesting are too short to bother many shooters. How things are measured can’t tell what we see with our eyes - opponents are getting a lot of 3’s that they feel very confident about making.

The Cavs generally get shit officiating. At this point, I've almost normalized that so it's whatever.

But the bench is ass. It is ass ass. 12 points overall? There is just a dearth of reliable players available.
It is the only excuse JB gets. Not even the agreed best coaches in the league can do much with what the Cavs have available right now.

As for JB. His basic game management skills (timeouts to calm the team down during big runs on the other side, on inbounds or last-of-game possessions) are lacking.

He has to be responsible for this "guarding the paint over everything else" strategy on defense. And the lack of go-to plays on offense that aren't high PnR/slip screen based BS.

Our guards need to chill on the hero ball when the defense isn't giving you the room.
BUILD THAT FUCKIN BENCH.

Theoretical Dylan Windler needs to be the scoring wing for whatever team Hypothetical Kevin Pangos is playing.

Front office needs to be serious about that wing position. It's comical how that position has just been skipped over by the Cavs' scouts over the year. Won't even swing for many of them (save KPJ).

A select few posters were very vocal about never wanting LeBron back because of how much fun they're having with this team. I'd like to know if they still feel that way, because these fucks are every bit as unwatchable as those '17/'18 teams...but at least with them, you knew they'd do something once the playoffs rolled around.

There is no way you have even a shred of that confidence in this soft-ass ramshackle squad.

I've seen enough. Get that deal with Dallas done. I don't care if THJ plays ass defense. This team needs to have less dribblers now that Rubio and Neto are in the rotation. JB is too wedded to these players.

Anyone who thinks this team can win more than 14 of the next 31 games needs to throw the crack pipe away and find help immediately.

This team is so disappointing, the offense is gross.
