Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DG to San Antonio is the dream fit for him. Bigs like Wemby and Sochan would play to his strengths. Would we do a DG for Vassell & Collins? If we believe CPJ can really be a #2 pg it makes some sense. We’d need to move on from one of our now even bigger glut of 6’5” ish guys. Collins would be a great backup big for us. I really don’t know anything about Vassell beyond his stats, but in the surface, it would seem to scratch an itch for both teams.
We want a backup big and a serviceable two-way wing for Garland?

Being open to discussions for Garland is one thing but I’n skeptical there’s a viable route to a satisfy the Cavs need in a trade while also absorbing the risk of giving up on Garland..

Was hoping Vassell was more than serviceable, but, like I said, I don’t know anything beyond his stats.

I guess it depends on what version of Garland you think is the real one. Vassell has been the better player this year and allows Donovan to move into the role he excelled at while DG was out.

However, DG’s last season blows away Vassell’s best. That’s the rub. We all know the talent and what DG is capable of. He can be and should be a top 5 caliber PG. The question is if he can get himself there and if the fit on this team allows him to.

Others I’m sure will hate a Vassell centered deal. For me, if surrounded by the right ancillary pieces, I could get behind it if this team once again flames out in the playoffs due to similar playing styles as last year.

That’s going to be the rub: Cavs will want value for the previous years version of Garland and teams will likely offer value closer to this years Garland..

In an up year, Vassell has: 15.7 PER, .073 WS/48, 0 BPM, 1.1 VORP, 4.1 WAR, +1.4 EPM

In a down year, Garland has: 14.7 PER, .076 WS/48, -0.7 BPM, 0.5 VORP, 1.8 WAR, +0.5 EPM

In a up year, Garland did: 18.8 PER, .148 WS/48, +2.4 BPM, +2.7 VORP, 9.4 WAR (t-19 with LeBron)

I find it hard these packages will be acceptable to absorb the risk of moving off Garland with what the Cavs would be giving up.. I’d prefer them to run it back with some adjustments with the coach and role players before giving up on Garland..

if i'm koby, i'd do a wing, a backup big AND a first round pick for garland (they have 3 this year)

I like Vassell as a player to pair with Mitchell, so I agree with a lot of this.

I would also want some form of draft compensation to use to continue to add to the team, either through trades or the draft. Vassell and one of the 1sts owed to the Spurs from other teams (like Atlanta) would make me really think.

Don't think the upside is high enough to do a straight up swap.

Done with the Cavs. Will come back this summer when the Mitchell trade heats up and most importantly, to see who replaces JB. Team is done.

And no more Caris LeVert trying to score late in games. He's gotta be the worst layuper ever next to David Wesley.

Oh wait that leaves exactly zero other players on this roster who can create a shot reliably.

Bet the house on whoever the Cavs play in the 1st round.. there isn’t 10 teams in the entire league they would beat with the fuck face coaching
