Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So Garland was sticking out like a sore thumb last night defensively.

And I wonder who, if anyone, has the pull in the lockerroom and the attitude to call him out.

Tristan would, but I wonder if he feels he's high enough on the pecking order.

Strus perhaps? I don't know if he's thar type of guy though.

But when they watch the tape of that game someone on the team needs to call Garland out for his lazy play.

Isn't the ENTIRE POINT of having JBB that he does this kind of gung ho high school coach thing with his players? If he can't do that for a bad defender there really is no point to having him as coach.

The way to stay generally “optimistic” about sports you’re not involved in is to shrink what you have emotionally invested in the results down to a very small part of your life.

When the results don’t matter that much, it’s easier to be optimistic that when Donovan is back they’ll look like the team they have been with him in the past albeit with probably a 2nd round ceiling right now.

It’s equally easy to see that DG is the odd man out here and that JBB needs to be replaced with a better coach that can unlock this team.

To do it, he’ll need to get DG to agree to play with an effort level and role he never has before or he’ll need to go.

DG- Monta Ellis
JBB- Mark Jackson

CPJ is obviously no Curry, but the team would be far better off letting him develop as the PG with Donovan at SG.

They’re one of the deepest teams in the league. CPJ knows how to take advantage of that and make the team better by keeping the ball moving and attacking when appropriate. He should be the PG.

Garland has a beautiful deep jumper and is comfortable making interior passes, but he’s blocking progress.

I thought Collin Sexton was Monta Ellis.

I don’t get paid the big bucks here to be completely accurate and reasonable.

Completely accurate and reasonable - that describes accountants and they don’t make the big bucks.

I just get triggered by some things. Ben Simmons triggers me. So do Monte Ellis comparisons. In fact GSW comparisons trigger me in general. We don’t have Draymond Green - we have the Family Dollar version who can also get ejected from games but can’t play point forward. We don’t have Steph - we had Dell and lost him in the expansion draft because we protected Mike Fucking Sanders. We never had Kevin Durant - we just had Kevin Love who‘s the MVP on @KevinLoveFan ’s ceiling but wasn’t enough to get us over the top in 2016-17 and 2017-18. We don’t have Klay either.

The GSW hate is curable though. Help me Ime Udoka, you’re my only hope. If Houston kicks GSW out of the play in tournament that would cure my illness.

Well, one of my illnesses. Ben Simmons hate is terminal.

Have a nice day!

After a gutsy win coupled with a nice result in San Antonio, I’m somewhat concerned over the lack of improvement in Donovan’s knee. I would have hoped that the nearly 2 weeks of additional time off due to the nasal fracture should have provided more than enough time to fully recover given the length of time previously missed

Good defensive teams have strong point of attack defense. Guys like Eric Snow and Delonte West were hallmarks for a well rounded defensive team. Without established point defense, or think of it like the turtle's shell, if it's cracked or broken you are allowing the interior to be exposed and the underbelly to be gutted. No matter how good your 4 and 5 are defensively, it puts them out of position and under duress trying to cover and contain. It's asking them to do too much to have the front line defenses pummeled time and time again.

And it got them nowhere. All those LeBron teams fell to teams that had multiple bucket-getters. Players today are too talented to guard and the rules make it almost impossible to shut anyone down. Defense just doesn't matter as much as putting the ball in the hoop. And DG at his best is elite at doing that.

I’m concerned as well. Mitchell needs to be explosive, his burst is key to his offensive game. If he doesn’t have that we’re in trouble in the playoffs. Wondering if the whole knee situation is more serious than they let on and if it might require intervention in the off season.

I'm rolling my eyes at speculation based on Mitchell's first game back after being off. The face mask was more of a problem than anything. And none of those issues seemed to hamper Donovan's elite passing. #Must. Have. Something. To Worry. About.

Okay how's about a two game sample size

#Must. Have. Something. To. Call. Out. Anyone. Who. Is. Remotely. Pessimistic.

Go ahead and worry. What happens is going to happen regardless of how you feel about it. The team either gets their shit together or they don't.

Bringing JBB back for another season should cost Koby his job. And I think he's done a great job, but this blunder (that was so, so obvious) should cost him his job. Completely idiotic to believe in JBB. Maybe it was Gilbert's call to bring him back, but if not...Bye Koby.
