Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Game's not over yet. But OKC does look good so far in the 1st half.

Beyond SGA, I like that undrafted Luguentz Dort actually takes shots. Isaac Okoro may be the better finisher, and maybe some Cavs fans still take him over Dort, but Lu Dort doesn't play 20 minutes and take zero shots like Okoro did today. Passive doesn't cut it in the playoffs, especially when you're on the fricking road.
Dort is far superior to Okoro. Better defender. Better shooter. Better ball handler. Better mentality. Maybe Okoro finds something in the future with a different coach/team. But in 2024 it’s not even close.

Koby has to go. His loyalty to a bum HC has cost him his job IMO.
Agreed. Every move Koby has made back to that shitty LeVert trade has been horrible. He panicked and overpaid for Caris after the Rubio injury which alot of us pointed out on this forum at the time.

The Agbaji pick. Bad. That horrid pick kept me up all night after the draft.

The Donovan trade. Fine but the timing was all wrong. This team was nowhere close to winning playoff games. If you are going to trade for a top 15 player you better make sure the roster fits for him and this one certainly does not.

Releasing Love. Awful.

Not firing JBB after last year's playoff debacle. Unexcusable.

Strus and Niang signings. Band aids. All the adhesive had worn off those two by the end of the season.

If I'm Dan Gilbert I certainly wouldn't trust Altman to turn the ship around especially when this offseason is going to be so crucial for the future of this organization.

I do wonder how Okoro might do with the Thunder at times. Their fastbreak style would suit him better. But yes, Dort is just the better and more aggressive player at this point. He's even the better three point shooter now.

It's the rant thread but there's SGA leading his team to a 3-0 lead after getting the 1 seed and a likely 2nd place finish in MVP voting that Altman passed on allegedly because "he didn't want to play in Cleveland."

Mind you, he's doing this in Oklahoma City..........
Yep big big miss. He would have grown into cleveland.

Evan Mobley is getting outplayed by Franz Wagner in this series. Let that sink in...

No one wants to admit it but this team with Scottie Barnes and Lauri Markaanen instead of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley would be light-years ahead of where we are now.

2 undersized guards would only work if Evan Mobley took a MASSIVE leap which isn't going to happen.

The Mitchell trade contingent on Evan Mobley's development was a massive miss for this franchise.

And don't even get me started on JB...

This team's record splits when Wade plays vs when he doesn't play is mightily impressive.

He's the key to making multiple lineups work. @Comeback kid

Yeah you don’t have to convince me. He makes those playing with him better in an unassuming way. And it’s been that way since he started playing as a kid. It’s just the shitz that it takes a crappy injury and absence to really understand that.

You have to remember who would be coaching them.

Also passed on Halliburton.

The Haliburton one was worse in my mind than SGA. Okoro wasn't worth using a #5 pick on. No 6'6 defensive SG/SF with such limited offensive skills should be taken with a top 5 pick.

I also think Koby not having the guts to trade up and secure Jalen Williams is up there too. To me Jalen Williams jump out when you watched his tape as much as Haliburton.

6'6 is being extremely generous. By like 2 inches.

Whenver they play the Nuggets next season just look at him next to Murray. He's smaller.

He was listed as 6'6 coming out in the draft and I think there was speculation that he could be taller. He is listed at 6'5 now. I could believe that he is closer to 6'4.

It’s not Wade specifically, it’s that he’s the only viable bench front court player we have. When Wade’s out, those minutes go to Niang, TT, Morris, or we’re playing a undersized “3” at the 4.

Dean being healthy would certainly help this team, but his inability to stay healthy only further highlights how terrible the front court is outside of Allen and Mobley and how poor of a job the FO has done addressing it the last two years.
