Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Koby ignoring the back up PG role two straight dead lines is something he will have to answer for. It was apparent that JB was not going to play Porter and that has left us stuck with only Levert off the bench or the alternative of running Garland and Mitchell into the ground.

It's also been way too long trying to find a decent wing with size who has a little offensive versatility. It doesn't have to be a star, but the bench can't have this few dimensions. That hot streak probably came at the wrong time because I think the whole organization greatly overestimated how "deep" this team was.

Team building is not a Koby Altman strength. Amirite?

Nothing has changed since the day of the trade, it always came down to this... If Donovan wants to stay or extend, you max him out and thank your lucky stars, then do anything and everything to build around him.

If he wants to go, get the biggest haul you can. But besides Donovan and JA, there isn't a single player on this roster that I would call off limits, if the price is right and if you have a plan.

I wouldn't consider JA off limits personally. And I don't think resigning Mitchell is just a simple decision. Signing a 28 year old who relies on athletic ability who has nagging injuries isn't wise. How long until he completely falls off a cliff once his athleticism is gone?

The team will undoubtedly sign him to a max if he is willing to sign it. But it won't turn out great by the 3rd or 4th year of the deal. Jazz fleeced us big time. Donovan Mitchell coming to Cleveland stunted the growth of our youth. He kept the team in the top half of the East for 2 years playing at a MVP level. Thus keeping JB Bickerstaffs job safe after last seasons collapse. And now if Cavs extend him we will have Donovan Mitchell with a body that is breaking down on a max contract.

In a series like this, we could really use a guy like Hartenstein...

Oh, wait.

There are just so many bad or just questionable decisions now with Koby that I think you got to move on.

Truly he has 1 unquestionably good decision and that's the JA trade. Pretty much after that there will be at least questions if he made the right decision with pretty much every other move he has done.

With Don’s knee the way it is I would be sort of shocked if he doesn’t sign his max extension as soon as he can this summer. It gives him guaranteed max financial security. He can asked to be traded further down the road.

I think the way he flipped all those contracts from 2018 to the JA was smart especially since it’s not easy to sign free agents. In hindsight he’s made some questionable decisions but overall the team has won a lot of games over the past three years.

It can't just be JBB who goes, Koby has to go too.

Koby got high on his own supply and preamturely decided Garland and Mobley were superstars. Koby locked us in for $90 million in multi year contracts on Strus and Niang. Koby drafted Okoro #5. And Koby stuck with JBB. How can you trust him to try to undo his own fuckups?

I take it all back if we win on Sunday and somehow manage to look good against the Celtics, ok.
His talent evaluation wasn’t off but his evaluation on how to provide a developmental environment was/is…

Koby has a good eye for talent but he’s failed the talent he’s picked out but not putting them in the best environment for success, and that ultimately may be his downfall..

Picking the talent is only part of the equation, developing the talent is just as much as the first part..

Garland and Mobley have the talent but they also haven’t been put on a pathway for success..

Mitchell doesn’t play winning basketball. Hope we trade him in the off-season and do a mini rebuild.

This shits just on the coach, we run the most simplistic garbage offense I think I’ve ever seen in the modern NBA. The players won’t and cannot succeed when all we run is iso and high PnR. There’s no offball movement, no cuts, no actions out of the high post, no offball screens. It’s garbage I’m 100% certain this roster can do better with somebody who isn’t a complete moron at the helm.

I’ve been saying this the last 3 seasons, even when we had that fake little run earlier in the season. I wasn’t fooled, I knew we would suck in the playoffs cause this coach is just dumb as a sack of bricks.

He needs to go yesterday and Altman needs to go with him for sticking with this arrogant piece of shit human.

“In coaching circles we don’t talk about adjustments we talk about playing better, if you play better you’ll win” this asshat actually said that. He’s dumb sack of shit and I’m tired of watching him ruin my favorite basketball team

I hate the coach. Hate the GM. Hate the role players.

I want heads in baskets. Wanted Koby fired after he drafted Agjabi. Wanted JBB fired after he lost the play in games.

I will not watch another Cavs game where Bickerstaff is the HC. I’m out.

Yes let's totally blame Mitchell who put up 50 on a bum knee and not:

a) our mental midget PG who committed TO after TO in the last 5 minutes of a close game (again)
b) our franchise PF who is a John Henson clone on offense
c) Max Strus, who is resembling Sasha Pavlovic
d) our 6th man, who looks like he would rather go through a root canal than give a shit on the court...complete chucker is who he is and who he will ever be
e) our top 5 pick (over Tyrese Haliburton) who is scared shitless to shoot in a close game (with good reason)
f) our coach who can't tell his ass from a hole in the ground
Holy shit this 100%.
