Have a little faith. This is the make-or-break offseason, and being businessmen, they should realize that. Every other one was a test, a gauge to see what the team can do. Now we know we have a solid core of young players and a great bullpen, and we can identify what exactly we need. Knowing that I think that the ownership group should do the right thing to propel the Indians to contenders, because we're the closest we'll ever be to the pennant for the next 10 years... unless we do something about it.
1. Do absolutely NOTHING to our 1-5 batting lineup.
2. Try to maintain our pitching core.
3. Do absolutely NOTHING to our 1-5 batting lineup.
4. Try to make a signing or trade for the 6th hitter, either a right fielder or first baseman as a replacement for Broussard. We are wealthy at pitching and trades can be made. If we don't have the bats, then we won't win... that's why Millwood still had a losing record despite having the best ERA in the AL. I think we can sacrifice one of our pitchers for a good hitter. We need one big, vet bat to put us over the top. Mark my words.
Trade Jake Westbrook for Carlos Lee! Dunno if that'll work, have no idea how trades in the MLB work.
