Manny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i know its a stretch to get manny, and he wouldnt be my number 1 choice. carlos lee i think would do fine, as long as casey blake is not in right field. if we had a average bat in right field we would have made the playoffs.

getting rid of pitching and coco is not worth getting manny.

If we got Carlos Lee I would seriously be the happiest man ever. He is a silver slugger and I'd take anything basically over Blake sure he gives you 20-30 dingers but he gives like like 200 strike outs...and 200 groundouts...and 200..flyouts...It gets old when we have 2 outs and the bases packed and he whiffs at a 3-2 slider in the dirt..

Lol Dude Coco's Arm Sucked And He Drops Alot Of Easy Ones E Dropped 4 Balls That Hit Off His Glove And Dont For Get All The Miss Gives There Was Aleast 40-50 Of Them, Coco Is Not Anything Special.

bro you dont know what the hell you are talking about. yeah he dropped a couple of balls but to say hes a bad fielder shows your ignorance.

We do not need Manny, what we need to do is resign our free agent pitchers ( Millwood and Howry ) and look at trading for a RF like Huff of Tampa. I know that no one likes Blake but in 2004 he hit 271, 28hr , 82 rbi, play him at first he would have a great glove, couldn't hit any worse than Ben Broussard

Two years ago, I said that Coco Crisp had the worst arm I had ever seen in professional baseball. Now, he has improved his mechanics and release SO much, that it makes his arm tolerable. He isn't going to lead the AL in outfield assists at any point in his career, but for a LF, his arm is tolerable.

I'm trying to remember how many drops Coco had, because I'm not remembering many. Coco had five errors on the season, one of which occurred when he was playing CF. Coco tied for sixth in the AL in fielding in LF, with Hideki Matsui. Add in the fact that with his speed he gets to more balls than most LFs not named Carl Crawford. In fact, Crisp got to more balls than any LF except Crawford.

I really don't get what people have against Coco Crisp. Ever since he has been here, the fans keep doubting him. All he has done is hit .300 with 15HRs and become the best bunter on the team. RF is a much bigger concern than LF. Manny is horrible defensively, almost doubling Coco's number of errors. Manny would ruin the salary structure, is not a good clubhouse influence and will be a DH within two years. He doesn't fit here. But, baseball fans who don't understand the game, will be clamoring for him because he is a name and people like names.

yeah i never thought i wouldnt want to get rid of coco in the process of getting manny. coco has been one of the most consistent hitters on the team.

also i read an article today saying that we shouldnt be suprised if we go after brian giles.

Here is what I wish we would do. (But it will never happen)

#1 Keep Millwood/Howry/Sauerbeck

#2 Get rid of boone/Blake/Broussard

#3 Sign furcal to play short..

#4 Slide Jhonny P. over too 3rd (he'll be over there eventually)

#5 Upgrade Right field by signing Lee or Encarnation.

#6 Hope Garko can get it done at first.

Now, although signing Furcal is not a NEED,I would love this move for 3 reasons.

#1 Gives us a speedy top of the order guy, who will STEAL 40+ bases for us.. We need that.. Somewhat like Podsednik did for the SOX.. We need a base stealer.

#2 It moves Grady to the #2 spot, which is a little more conducive to his style of play.. Or, you can leave CoCo at #2 and slide Grady Further down..

It might be best if CoCo stayed at #2 because if Furcal got on and stole 2nd CoCo is our best bunter to get him over to 3rd ect.....

#3 Furcal is a solid Bunter/small ball player.. We can use some of those fundamentals around here.. The inability to get a bunt down in critical situations just killed us..

Lee is not a free agent they picked up this years option.

really, he never dropped any, yes he did check your shit and manny drops a few to hes not anything great but he had a great arm and led at out outfielders in assits last season and i no the big green monster in boston helped him alot but he was really good with assits in cleveland to. im not saying u have to move coco to left field if we sign manny. mybe manny would like to play in right for a change, but i was thinking of putting manny as DH and letting hafner play first base he is really good a first not alot of people no that, and indians would just need to look for a right fielder.

hafner cant play first with his elbow.

Hafner is not all that great at first.. Otherwise, i'm sure his ass would have been there and not Broussard's down the stretch...

CoCo is fine in left field and there is no need to remove him from there..

There is not a shot in hell you are going to pay 17 million or anything close to that for a DH.. Unless the Angels or Yanks want to rip Bonds from the Giants as an everyday DH...

The Indians won't do it.. And they shouldn't...

To further prove my point: Hardball Times- Gold Gloves

Left Field

Gold Gloves: Kelly Johnson (+22), Coco Crisp (+34)

Call me crazy, but if I were Atlanta, I would trade Andruw Jones at the peak of his value and move Johnson to center field, where his amazing defense (he played barely half a season) would be extremely valuable and give the Braves a spectacular young outfield with Ryan Langerhans, Johnson and Jeff Francoueur. Average age? 24. Then they would have the money to re-sign Furcal, plus whoever they got for Jones, who has become an average outfielder. Coco Crisp is one-third of the best defensive outfield in the American League, an outfield that played a great role in Cleveland’s dream season.

Lead Gloves: Miguel Cabrera (-20), Manny Ramirez (-32)

I have to admit that Ramirez’s rating would be about -15 if I applied a park factor. This is one of the few situations where a park factor actually makes a great difference, though even at -15, Ramirez would be the worst defensive left fielder in the AL. Meanwhile, Cabrera’s rating is a clear indication that the second-best young hitter in the game may need to go back to third base.
