Morris had a very good game. Best game since his first one as a Cav when he went 4-5 from three.
But there's a reason we're his third team this season, and why he was sitting at home when the Cavs called. While he's capable of having those kind of games occasionally, he's going to have more games where he's basically a non-entity, and his slow feet make him a liability on defense. If that three isn't falling, he's a liability on offense too.
At this point, shorthanded as we are and with Niang's shot not falling, he was our best option because he gives us more size that Niang just doesn't have, and is more physical. But it's not like we had this great weapon sitting on the bench that we were just ignoring.
This was probably the right game to roll him out, and it worked. But the reality is that it's unlikely we're going to see a repeat of that performance next game.
Hope he proves me wrong, though.
