Finally caught up on the MCU films and most of the tv offerings.

All I have to say is that we are now at the point where Disney, like with Star Wars, is just cranking out product.

Endless, homogenized product for their streaming service.

And the quality of the films have fallen off a cliff since Endgame.

There have been, what? Seven films and seven shows in 18 months and it is too damn much. Yes, I know COVID ate up 18 months as well, but, you know we all needed the rest. Maybe we needed more.

Of the seven films, two were great, the Spidey films. The rest have been mediocre at best with a couple being bad. And little of it is advancing a coherent interwoven storyline.

Marvel has earned trust, but I feel like they are just saturating the market and people are getting fatigued, combined with only lackluster offerings. They are in danger of ruining the franchise if they don't turn it around. We see what happened to Star Wars and it can happen quick too.

I would hate to see it happen to the MCU.
I was just telling my wife that I think we're going to see an end of the Superhero genre that mirrors the end of Disco.

Enjoying them is going to quickly become out of style, and hating it will become popular. I just want to see Supe Demolition Night

I've actually enjoyed most of the shows. They have a different feel from the movies of course.

Again havent seen thor 4 yet, but the other movies have been okay on average. I'd say both spider's are above an 8.5 and Shang-chi was a solid 8.2. Widow, strange 2 and eternals were closer to Iron man 2 than winter soldier.

Same show, different skin. Stopped halfway through moon knight and haven’t watched anything else show wise. Dr Strange was meh and will probably wait until Thor hits Disney +.

Marvel fatigue is very real in the Five household.

Kang is supposed to be the villain in the 3rd Ant-Man movie and his presence might be the boost that the fatigued part of the fanbase needs to regain interest. That movie is set to come out mid-February.

In the meantime we have Black Panther 2 (without Chadwick Bosman and Daniel Kaluuya) as well as 3 Disney Plus series: She-Hulk, What If? 2, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. I can't imagine any of those will really movie the needle.

What route is Black Panther going with Chadwick's unfortunate passing?

I would've loved for them to find a way to bring back Michael B. to take the franchise into the future.

T'Chala's younger sister, Shuri, is supposed to be the lead going forward. She was the one who was very tech savy in Black Panther 1 and in Infinity War.

I know there was some drama with that actress and Marvel because she posted a few anti-vax things on Instagram or Twitter.

I would expect to see a trailer or teaser this weekend at Comic Con.

Secret wars is the next major crossover right? I still think they missed a huge opportunity by using Civil War so esrly.. could've been a 3-4 movie event

The entirety of phase 5 & now 6 look awesome.
And so much of phase 6 not announced yet either(likely at D23)

I think it's likely/makes sense that the FF movie is set in a different universe. Otherwise, how do you explain their absence this whole time, including Thanos's attack on Earth. So the introduce the FF and their dynamic as a group in a different universe and then fold them into the 616 via the actions and consequences of Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, especially if they include elements from the Battle Word comic storyline in Secret Wars

I think we get an answer to that in Quantummania. Stuck like Janet?

I'm actually really excited about the 3 or 4 stories going on. No need for everyone to be crammed into a movie until Secret Wars.

What I'm most excited about is watching Sony deviate from this plan because they plan like a 3 year old who ultimately shits down his leg.

We need Dr. Doom!

I labored to get throught Moon Knight, but it was worth the effort.. they did a better job connecting the threads at the end, and there was more humor, which relieved the tension a little.

Rumors flying around today that Giancarlo Esposito may get cast as Professor X.
