Like I said, this is basically the best early rip I've ever seen for a movie that is only a few weeks old, discounting any instances where some sort of screener leaked or something. It's not blu-ray quality or anything, but it feels like watching a DVD.

I'm not saying the CPG version is bad, I've just seen better TC copies, granted they were years ago. But it suffered from the same thing a cam rip would, dark scenes too dark/no definition, slight pixelation during action scenes, etc.

I'm thinking they're all from the same chinese source tho. So we'll see what filters ETRG applied to see if it's any better.

I watched Civil last night. The fight scenes in the airport were hilarious, I'm excited for the spider man 3rd reboot in three decades with Feige in charge. Feige seems understand that Spiders mans Levity must be offset with a little spunk in battle along with some wit.

I also have to watch ant man now. something I wasn't planning on doing.

It was also a good decision to leave Hulk off the lineup.

Exodus has the primewire cam. it is a pretty good quality cam Far superior than the cam that was available for Deadpool. the pixilation was minimal to the point it wasn't noticeable.

Looks like the ETRG is a better rip from what I've seen. Haven't checked it on my TV to see the difference in quality. But I'm going to go ahead and run it through a couple filters and see if I can't brighten it up a little and give it some color balance.

I think they're saving any major deaths for the third Avengers movie. I'm guessing Cap or Iron Man bites it in that one, if not both.
I was actually think both could die in the Infinity War saga. Marvel will need to add more characters soon (Spider Man is one of those) to continue and re-tool the lineup.

If they get Fantastic Four back, or at least agree on a deal to share them, that would go a long way toward helping them out given that F4 is one of their cornerstone franchises. They'd also then be able to use Doom and presumably Galactus as well as future villains.

Can someone explain the relationship between Spidey, Fantastic Four, and X-Men in the cinematic universe? Why doesn't Marvel own the rights to all three?

I just hope they dont recast them.

Well, back before Marvel was their own studio, they sold the film rights to their franchises. Not thinking far enough ahead, or perhaps not expecting superhero movies to become the booming business they have, these deals typically allowed that the companies in question could maintain the rights so long as they made a new movie every so often. I don't know the explicit terms of any of the deals (you could probably find that info if you really wanted), but that's the basics.

As far as Spider-Man goes, the second Amazing movie bombed and, not wanting to lose the franchise entirely, Sony instead worked out a deal with Marvel. From what I understand, Marvel is basically making the films now and can use Spidey in their team-up movies, but Sony gets a share of the profits. Basically a win-win for both sides since Sony negates much of the risk but still gets a cut of the cash.

The film rights for X-Men and the Fantastic Four are still entirely owned by Fox. However, given that Fox has failed on three different occasions to make a successful Fantastic Four movie, I'd say it's likely that they either just let the license expire or work with Marvel to sell back the rights or make a deal like the Sony one.

X-Men might be trickier since, to this point, that franchise has been wildly successful. Apocalypse reviews have been lukewarm thus far, though, so maybe that changes. It's tough to say. The only thing that might really deter Fox at this point is a box office failure. Otherwise, why give up those rights when they can make a movie every two years that is guaranteed to turn a profit?

To that end, though, it's less obnoxious because at least Fox has mostly done right by the X-Men. You can't complain too much when the casting has generally been excellent and the movies, first Wolverine spin-off and X3 aside, have been enjoyable. Still, it would be awesome to see Magneto as a villain in the Marvel movie-verse.

I just hope they dont recast them.

They absolutely will. No chance they go back in with that same cast after that movie tanked as bad as it did. They want to distance themselves from that train wreck.

Loved Civil War, though it wasn't perfect by any means. I was kinda confused by Zemo and while many argue he's an effective villain because his plan works, he just kinda bored me. While he may have been a better villain via accomplishments, he was barely there. Nothing physically unique and no strong character traits/big lines to draw me in. And how did his final stroke work? He TOLD them his plan was to make them fight, and Stark ignores this completely to start a fight about his mommy. Really strange how many comparisons are drawn between this movie and BvS without mentioning the common thread of mommy issues. So strange. That being said, killer action movie where I rooted for Cap the whole time personally. Ant-Man was fucking great and Spidey killed even though I'm not a fanboy.

I'm really excited for Infinity War because it's the big event movies that draw me in. Some of the individual movies are solid and semi-original, but most of them feel like filler between the big ones, teasing this and that. Would go see a Planet Hulk or something really unique but I usually see the sequels when there's nothing else in theaters. I have not seen an MCU movie I have hated yet though, so that's something.

My Rankings:

1) Avengers [saw it in theaters 3 times, sold me that the MCU really knew what it was doing]
2) Guardians of the Galaxy [very close to being #1, need to rewatch]
3) Avengers 2 [loved it, didn't understand the hate; though imbalanced with the amount of humor, thought it was a fun as hell and hilarious action adventure movie; Hulkbuster scene was awesome and better than the lead-up fights in Civil War]
4) Civil War [airport fight scene drags this one way high]
5) Iron Man
6) Winter Soldier [can someone explain the hype on this movie? saw it and thought it was solid but didn't wow me that much; The Dark Knight comparison baffles me because this movie seems so standard in execution in comparison to me]
7) Ant-Man [fun movie, ironically Paul Rudd was among the less funny parts, though I like him in the role]
8) Captain America [fine, got me hyped for Avengers]
9) Thor [just because Thor interests me the least among the heroes]
10) Thor 2 [had no qualms with this movie and thought no less of it than the first (practically interchangeable in my mind), also don't understand the massive hate; really liked the final fight scene]

Have Not Seen: Hulk; Iron Man 2 (never finished this one)

Is Batman Vs Superman the best comparison for Civil War ? I agree that the theme is similar, but I feel like Watchmen is probably a better comparison (Side Note: I loved the plot of the Watchmen).

The plot of Watchmen is great, and it's one of the better comics ever written. I had some issues with the movie, but they were mostly with the visual style, which I didn't think was a good fit for the source material. Snyder's style is too flashy for a dark, gritty drama like Watchmen. It wasn't a terrible movie, but it also wasn't as good as it could have been with a more fitting director.

Civil War and Batman V Superman will inevitably be forever intertwined though because they both feature prominent comic book heroes coming to blows and they came out around the same time.

In the comic series for civil war. Mr fantastic was heavily involved Punisher also joins in the story along with Black panther.

A 2nd civil war was launched in 2015 and a sequel to te original comic series is supposed to be in place.

The movie version seems the most sensible especially sense in the original Civil War Spider man was convinced to reveal his identity and a timeline reboot had to be done for the spider man series where that didn't happen.

There was a storyline in the comic Civil war where a young group of superheroes are part of a reality television show and make some decisions that end up with the supervilians destroying a neighbourhood block and killing 600 people. It would be fantastic if this was a storyline ran on agents of shield after the current storyline ended.

I think he screwed up Watchmen by adhering too much I the source material without fully committing to it. He have Watchmen fans blue balls by pretty much copying several shots straight from the comics but then changing the ending so drastically. Really, it was a story that needed a miniseries not just 3 hours to really flesh it out. I know the story is 'dated' because the younger generation never experienced the Cold War but had he stuck to the original story line maybe they would get an idea of it. Anyhoo...

Since everybody else is ranking the Marvel movies here is mine:

Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America
Avengers
Civil War
Winter Soldier
Iron Man
Thor
Avenger 2
Thor 2
Iron Man 2

Never bothered with Ant Man or Hulk, although Evangeline Lilly is in Ant Man so I probably should have.

I have never read the comics so i have nothing to compare it against. Also i saw it on DVD and it was a random pick so I really enjoyed it. I found it long and slow in some parts and that is my biggest gripe with it but otherwise no complaints.
