Some transaction news to start (courtesy of Guardians Prospective):
#Guardians minor league transactions
RHP Caleb Simpson activated at Columbus
C Joe Donovan transferred to Columbus from Lake County
OF Wuilfredo Antunez placed on 7-day IL at Lynchburg
OF Pres Cavenaugh placed on 7-day IL at Lynchburg
OF Jordan Brown added to Lynchburg roster from AZ

Other injury news (same source)
#Guardians LHP Sam Hentges will begin a rehab assignment at Double-Akron on Wednesday 4/19.

Tuesday night (4/18) game of Lansing Lugnuts at Lake County Captains has been postponed. Traditional doubleheader to be played on Thursday 4/20 starting at 4:30 pm.
Poster opinion: They should move opening pitch for gm 1 to 4:20 pm... The symmetry just screams for it to be done that way...

Some Kudos to share:

Here is Columbus with a lot of changes as No Pilk so Bilous gets start. Also no Palacios or Rocchio which is concerning after day off and Freeman up at MLB so Collins at 1st, Fry at 2nd, etc.....

Fry at 2nd?? Donovan in RF???? Schneemann at SS??????

It's wacky all around.. fixing drywall holes with duct tape.

It looks like one of my OOTP spring training lineups when I am trying to get guys experience at different positions...

Well I am okay with Fry being able to play 2B...

And Mud Hens hit a HR... This is going to be an interesting game...

Ps. If Freeman is hurt, Rocchio is the next man up...

So doing a bit of research... Schneeman was drafted as a MIF so him playing SS, really isn't an issue at the end of the day. Fry was originally a 2B in college and plays there once in awhile...

Donovan at RF... He's never played there on paper and Eric Rodriguez at DH is another odd thing since he's a catcher not known for hitting.

I get that Schneemann and Fry sort of "fit", especially Schneemann, but my god is that a hodgepodge..

Personally I feel it could be Richie just as easy. He slots into Arias’ bench role and Arias plays everyday while Rosario heals up. Rocchio would be more exciting but for playing the numbers game long haul could see him stay down.

I actually don't see it being Palacios mostly because we need someone that can play more than one position... I mean having 2 catchers and a negative fielding OF/2B is not a smart idea...

I feel you on that but if Rosario is as short term as they are making it out to be I don’t see it being an issue because I think Palacios plays a competent enough 2B. All this said let’s really hope Freeman is fine because that could be a devastating setback for him at least with this club imo.

If Freeman is going to be out for a week or longer though, they gotta switch him with Rocchio until Amed is healthy...

The wacky lineup has to be due to Freeman being called up...and then getting hurt to join Amed as unavailable. That means Rocchio was held out to be called up.

Rocchio is traveling with the team, so I wonder if they will call up someone from AA for tomorrow's game at AAA?

CleGuardPro said Rocchio is up in Detroit (to be called up) only if both Freeman and Rosario cannot go. The report that Rocchio was already added was premature. Delgado was sent from AA to AAA and at one point played a little SS (but not since 2019). With a 1pm Detroit game and 6pm Columbus game, I assume Rocchio will go back down once Freeman is either cleared to play or not.

With Hentges going today in AA on rehab, I assume 3+ appearances (so today - Fri/Sat - Sun/Mon type plan). With Bieber on Sat, rain in the 4-cast, Fri night and Sat, I assume he will also be just a Akron-Prog call away if there is trouble over weekend. But, with Santos back Fri or Sat (maybe) and Curry just going 30 pitches (out today and tomorrow), we should muddle through till Rockies leave. But, with bad weather (possible DH), they may prefer Curry and Pilk as length over someone trying to knock off rust (this rehab is his spring training - so maybe more than 3 appearances). But, yeah, once ready, get him up -- Herrin is good but is better at bottom of order (till he gets a 3rd pitch perfected) vs high pressure - middle of the order that is Hentges calling. But, as out 8th reliever, Herrin can get his experience in games we are behind while Curry goes back to AAA to be extended (to get called up over Pilk, the next time).
