Minor League Game thread 6/12 through 6/19

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we can get a right handed power bat with team control, It would make sense to move him... Though for anything else, I'd rather just keep him...

It's more of the question, who is out of contention right now we could trade him too? Or do we pair him with Bieber, get the bat plus a young MLB ready arm back?
I fear your aiming a little high for a Bieber only trade. I get the desire for the bat but seeking “mlb ready arm” on top of that could be the bridge too far.

Getting an arm in the return package is needed but I would be ok with an arm at the A level (& does not need to be rostered after the season).

There’s nothing on the hitting front that is even close to being horny for.

Look at the Clevinger and Bauer trades... They got a top 100 pitching prospect/an MLB arm in both deals... Bauer got Logan Allen (top 100 prospect) and Clevinger got Quantrill... Allen was near MLB ready and Quan was already in the bigs...

My guess is they will want an MLB bat, 2 SP prospects (one near MLB ready) then another prospect. Any less and they will keep Bieber... At least that's what I expect the return to be...

@sportscoach
Let's not over look some key details in those trades you mentioned.
1) Clevinger had other pieces going with him in Greg Allen & Matt Waldon (as PTBNL). So even in the short 2020 season , Clevinger alone was not netting all 6 pieces from San Diego.
2) Is getting a hitter back like Josh Naylor or Austin Hedges (at 2020 levels) the target for a Bieber deal?? I suspect not & your shooting for more as a hitter.
3) As Bauer was dealt away, Puig (with his own baggage) was a part of the return. Scott Moss from Cinci was a late add to the deal & its suspected it was due to Puig returning to the field for a fight with the Pirates that got him suspended shortly after the trade was agreed to. The other part from Cinci was Taylor Trammel & he was sent to SD for Logan S Allen, Franmil Reyes & Victor Reyes. Are you looking for a repeat of that type of deal because I don't feel it aged very well.

I mean that's a fair evaluation, but I don't expect Cleveland to take any less than I stated... They aren't going to trade Bieber unless they get what they want. Now it also does depend on the health of the rest of the rotation as well since I don't see them going with 3+ rookies if they are in contention. Cleveland is notorious for getting their price or walking away. I mean, my guess could be wrong...

Plus it's not like we couldn't add in a Tena type in a deal as well...

Time to start looking at protecting Johnathan Rodriguez. 23 yo at AAA with .850 OPS....but in June hitting .410 with a .1263 OPS! 25/63 BB/K so not swinging at everything like Oscar.

Get him to Columbus soon and see what he got.
