MLB 2022 regular season thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm confused. A pitcher doesn't have to step off the rubber to throw to first base (or any base really). But if he steps off he can check a runner without a throw. But I would imagine that should still count against the 20 second clock. How does the step off rule limit throws to first? (I admit I haven't read the rule so go easy on me.)
is the 20 second clock in force when men are on base?

I would recommend going to see or tuning into a AAA game (while a few still remain to be played) to get a better feel and understanding of how the pitch clock works.

AAA started using the pitch clock this season and on average game times have been reduced by over 30 minutes...

btw - i should add that the pitch clock is there for all to see - coaches, players, umps and fans

Goes to show... LaRussa really is a bad manager.
..or the preseason predictions of a southside division winner are finally coming true after numerous injuries that sidelined many of the CWSox starters... i.e. regardless of TLR's buffoonery...

Certainly, but some of LaRussa's in game decisions are... head scratching.

Totally random, but if any of you guys want to make a jillion dollars...

Invent a finger/hand test panel for the sticky-icky. No more hand massages or running fingers through glorious locks.... Just press your hand on here, give it a shake, flash it with UV or something and voila.

They have those swab things at the airport, why not something like that? Use a swab/pad, collect a sample and stick it in a machine.

Oh you sweet summer child :chuckle:

The ability to do selective enforcement isn't a bug--it's a feature. The MLB isn't interested in doing a 100% crack down at this time.

Ser Bronn sends his regards.

Ideally I picture a box like device where the pitcher inserts his hand and either a green light bulb goes ding or a red one goes buzz. That buzzing sound is from a saw chopping off their hand.

The crowd goes wild.
