Agreed... the Guardians are NOT where the Brewers are.. the point of the posting was to provide a reference.. The kid the Pirates are getting back (he is an 18 year old kid) has some ability.. Scherzer has full no trade clause.. so, before the details of the deal are revealed.. he has to waive that clause.. Financially.. Scherzer's deal is short and expensive.. The remaining $$$$$$ on Scherzer's contract is about $ 14.4 MM for the rest of the 2023 season and $ 43.44 MM for 2024...

The Rangers have a very strong and deep minor league system with both pitchers and position players. The guess is the financial burden the Rangers take on will reduce the prospect assets going back to the Mets who will be in desperate need of upgrades.. The make up of this deal, given the massive contract of Scherzer, can only result in disappointment w/r to the return..
