Not even sure what I really need here.

I currently have a standard Amazon Echo and a bluetooth record player located centrally to my two story house.

I have two tv’s on the ground floor that have amazon music in rooms adjacent to that room. I have another one in the basement. There are other tv’s upstairs that at this point I don’t believe are relevant, but let me know if you believe they are. I always work on a laptop in the basement. My wife works on a laptop near the Echo. Both computers use Prime Music and have Itunes (which I dont use).

My internet setup is a Google Home mesh system from 2016 or so. May need replaced.

Currently the only constant speakers I have are the Echo and the tv’s themselves. I play the vinyl out of this mobile bluetooth boombox thing for now. Yeah Ok fuck you.

My goal is to be able to play audio sourced from either computers, the tvs or the Echo on speakers in 4 rooms on the main floor and in my basement. Upstairs I dont really care about but I can provide further info if needed.

Tagging @MattyFos. @TyGuy feel like you dorks have either worked in big box or know audio. Maybe @RchfldCavRaised knows something.

Thanks anyone that can help.

Sonos is going to be your answer, and based off your description of your setup, nothing more complex than Sonos to set up would be a realistic option for you anyways.

Your wifi coverage doesn't need to be changed to accommodate this. If it works for you streaming video and working on computers, you're fine.

Vinyl to bluetooth makes me shudder. What's the point of playing off vinyl if you're going to compress it into shitty digital anyways?

Source: Have about as complex of a home tech setup as one could ask for, and still use Sonos (because it came with the house). If I ever had to replace them, I'd likely figure out a solution with amps using raspberry pi's as streaming sources.

I can help. I have experience in this electronic stuff. In lieu of a resume, I've attached a picture of myself doing electronic stuff:

I know dick about shit and you can quote me on that.

We made our unit "Smart" about two months ago. It was a monumental pain in the ass. The hope is that we can take it with us when we buy a house.

We used Google Nest because we liked "Jot" which is a rechargable speaker. I didn't want all the outlets taken up with individual speakers.

*Definitely find out if your television has bluetooth. If you bought it in the past three years, it probably will. If so, your TV is ready to play through the speakers.

Good luck, it's really going to suck!

This entire post was this:

I’d thank you for the useful parts but the pretentious smarm to useful info ratio was unfavorable.

... what was "smarm" besides criticizing your vinyl abuse?

Seriously. Go check out Sonos. It's the right solution for you. Audio quality, convenience, features. It ticks every box. The only downside is price. If you get into that ecosystem, you basically pick a source, pick the speakers you want it to play out of, and done.

That post was a chicken tender slathered in smarm sauce. Don’t lie to me.

Sonos looks good. Price is fine.

The dumb little boom box is a temporary solution until I have something permanent for the vinyl. Just got the record player a couple days ago and wanted to hear it. All audio is temp right now. Want something that’ll last...5 (??) years.

Yeah this 100% appears to be the solution.

What am I doing for vinyl speakers then?

And don’t you fucking dare give me the whole “vinyl is better than digital” shaming (again).
