Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've been an employee in a group home and trained other social workers how to not excuse exactly what you are excusing. In a situation where you are surrounded by chaos and expected to know the boundaries, training is critical. Myles is going to go through some kind of NFL mandated program now, that's all there is to it.

Guy just ripped your helmet off and wants to kill you. Unprotected you run at him and try to punch him maybe in the genitals? Where is the self control there? Why is the Black man the one that need to keep his cool? Is Rudolph a police officer? Guy was sneering and trying to hit a man while his 2 buddies are holding him. How is that poise?

I have no problem with the suspension. It should be harsh, but it should be a specific number of games. I also think Rudolph did enough to get at least a 1 game suspension, but he didn't even get a fine. That means what Garrett did was worse and deserves punishing.

He was safe, no one was going to hurt him and he waded back in and got crowned by his own helmet as a hot head piece of shit.

He’s not even safe from “fans” in Cleveland after that punch in the face incident :chuckle:
Did the guy that punched Myles with no explanation drive a DeLorean? Maybe he was a hit man sent back to the future

I see absolutely no race in this and I can usually see when race is involved in something.

Race keeps getting brought into this in a league office which is likely hypersensitive to it right now.

The other thing with all the "he could have killed him" takes.... well could he have? Because he swung the helmet and hit him in the head and it didn't hurt him at all. So I don't think he could have killed him. All the evidence would suggest otherwise.

Of the few things I remember from my one year in law school...Theres a legal theory based around this. Eggshell skull rule.

You can be held liable for unforseeable damage to someone due to negligent behavior.

If you lightly punched someone in the face that would have otherwise just experienced minor damage and they experienced ridiculous harm, you probably couldn’t defend yourself against it. Myles may have just lucked out, assuming charges could have been pressed against him in the first place. Let’s say the dude turned out to have a disorder where one more shot to the skull in that exact spot without covering would kill him and Myles hit it...keels over and dies it. As far as I understand it could potentially be proven that Myles is responsible for all damages.
@The Human Q-Tip @MediumBaller help me out and confirm if I got this one right.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. However, if this were the case, Rudolph certainly shouldn't have been playing QB in the NFL.

Well the national narrative has really shifted since Friday morning. There was a great Onion article about how punchable Rudolph is, lots of talking heads saying he is deserving of some blame, SNL making light of the entire thing, and clips coming out of this thing happening before in the HOU-MIA game with a light suspension. And as I suspected, people are already talking about Tua's injury, Kaepernick's workout, the CFP rankings, and OSU-PSU. Had Rudolph been hurt this stays in the cycle, but the media is already moving on. Because honestly no one cares that much about Cleveland when there are New York and LA teams to discuss.

Fox pre-game show really standing up for Myles and how the overreaction has been. Consensus between the main hosts is that Myles is a good dude, and if you think that the play in question is an anomaly, then you haven't been around football very much. Dudes are crazy and crazy shit happens.

Jay Glazer saying that Myles was going to do an interview but the Browns shut it down.

Also good to see Gronk standing up for when he fucked up. Like it's blanking out and just reacting. Lends more to me that Rudolph must have said something.

In the unlikely event that the nfl lessens the suspension, it would be after the 2nd steelers-browns match... If they do it before then that game might have another skirmishes, that is also probably the reason for the initial lenght of suspension
