Durant's team stacking move was too much to overcome. He really did 'break the league' with his chintzy move, and it's too bad because the Cavs would've won a real rematch.
Cavs gave strong effort the last 3 games and showed they weren't too far off being able to play with Team Stack... I think Kyrie seemingly getting hurt in the 2Q tonight is when the wheels started to fall off in Game 5. However, the last two years it's taken 2-2.5 games to get into the series. They spotted too many games up front.
If I could whittle things down to the two most critical needs:
Get at least one and hopefully two more 2-way players with some length who can match up with GS (where and how, I don't know). George would be ideal but seems unattainable. It won't help to get rid of the Korvers and load up on Liggins-type guys who no one has to guard.
Find a way to truly spell Lebron when he's out. This was a major problem against Team Stack and really all year. Lue once again fell for the fool's gold of failing to get Lebron any rest in the 2nd half, perhaps because he felt he couldn't.
