NBA News & Notes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Holy shit how can an NBA player, even an ex player, miss seven straight unguarded practice shots from inside of ten feet? It should be totally impossible. I’m in awe.

It's understandable when you notice he is shooting LEFT handed! Try it, it's not that easy. I mean, it's not like he is a naturally left-han.... (checks notes)....

oh.

shit.

That’s why TT can stay as far away from the Cavs as possible! Never saw any big man miss as many point blank layups and put backs as he does!

WTF is that shot anyway? I had to slow it down to understand what he's doing.

I love when I’m like a third of a way through a post, I haven’t looked at the poster name yet and I’m like…this rant has gotta be @Ohioplayer00. Never change, my man
I agree with him though. The constant need to publicly defend other stars is one of LeBron's more annoying personality traits.

Why can't lebron, mj guys with big money just start their own league?

Those offensive rebounds of his were crucial in our championship run though. Also he set good screens, something we’ve been missing

Actually his screens were weak! The last time we had a big man who knew how to set a good strong screen and effectively roll to the basket was Andy V!

They really should. I've been an advocate of a player-funded league for a long time. I think it would put some ideas into practice that deserve to be given a public chance.

I think it would take something dramatic to happen for the players to leave to make their own league. If LeBron, MJ, etc put up the money to start a league they will want a return on that money for the risk so they essentially become the owners.

It's not the big names leaving to make their own league but who is going to front the money to pay everyone else, lease out the arenas, and all the other stuff that goes along with the game.

Also the structure of how players get paid or share the revenue would be so complex. Who is deciding how much someone is getting paid and their worth to each team? Are they signing contracts or sharing the revenue? What's stats equal what to pay a player? How does a player's salary get effected when they get injured if it's sharing revenue? Who is running each team? How does free agency and trades work?

If all the players leave at once and move to another league then create some city cost sharing it could work. Players might have to wait to the end of the first season to get paid and each city gets a cut of the revenue for the arenas instead of leasing it. Presales of ticket revenue might be enough to pay all the arena people and employees to make the league run. If the cities and players can cut out the owners, it might be more beneficial to all. It might make a better model for pro sports in general.

Is it true Danny A is asking for 6-7 FRPs and players for Mitchell and the Knicks are actually considering it????
I love Mitchell but I wouldn’t give up anymore than three FRPs and that’s stretching it!
