New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That Animal Kingdom show on TNT is solid so far, I'm sure most of you guys caught the previews for it during the ECF

Solid Pilot. the 1st episode wasn't too bad. The Movie was critically acclaimed and theboth the movie and the show are based on the pettingills a Melbourne mob family.

look up Kathy Pettingill and youll see the source material for this show is endless.

Well now watched the Preacher and Outcast
Preacher had a kill bill feel to it but I really wasn't sure about it from the pilot.
Essentially a force escapes from heaven and seeks out a host.. If the host isn't suitable the recipient explodes. eventually it find its way to the preacher but the show has fun with the people who weren't suitable host.
Apparently the power had some guardians who messed up and let it get away. these two guys are rather entertaining I their quest to recover the power.

I'm enjoying the character development here. it seems to be a focus of the show as much if not more so than the plot device.

The show has rather a chaotic nature to it struggling to maintain control much like the building struggle with the host and its new power.

The Outcast is well written with a solid cast. unlike the Preacher where a guy fighting his morality receives power from the heavens and continues to faces the same struggles but with a larger impact on those around him.

This character is in self discovery of something that he was born with. A guy who just wants to be normal but whose blood brings him constantly under the attention of ancient Evils that target his family and loved ones leading him to an isolated life.
Every answer found seems to ask more questions which makes for compelling drama.

It's going to suck when game of thrones ends forever. Season 6 was SO GOOD.

...still waiting for Dragon Ball Super to be released in the US...

I'm up to date with Japan (via English subtitles) - for what it's worth, it's fantastic so far. I thought that re-telling the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F sagas was going to be a drag but it was surprisingly thorough and refreshing.

I only started watching DBS in Japanese a couple of weeks ago - I honestly couldn't wait any longer for the English version and had myself convinced that watching it without those iconic US voices and score wouldn't do it justice. Boy, was I wrong.

Give it a chance in Japanese - as someone who was initially reluctant, I haven't been disappointed.

They should make another show that happens BEFORE Season 1. Like maybe about the Mad King?

Not sure how it would be, especially since all the characters on this show are just amazing and we would constantly compare.

But just too good to stop. 1 or 2 more seasons, that's it right?

I believe what my gf told me last night was 2 more seasons totaling 13 episodes.

Yep, looks like she is right.

There’s a reason for the shorter seasons: As Weiss told Variety, “It’s crossing out of a television schedule into more of a mid-range movie schedule.” The time and production values allotted to each episodes will increase, even if we end up with fewer episodes than we’d like. Is it worth the trade-off, or will the story feel even more rushed as a result? It could well be the latter, but it’s not really up to us, is it? After tonight’s finale, there are probably just 13 episodes of Game of Thrones left. And we’ll get the first set of them with the Game of Thrones season 7 release date next April. It feels like a long, long wait.

I gave up on Preacher 4.5 episodes in, just too damn boring...

I am going to start Hannibal probably within a week or two, heard decent reviews for it.

In the summer, my go-to's are The Last Ship, Zoo and The Strain.

It has been interesting so far.

Zoo comes back tomorrow as well.

Finished Bloodline season 2 a couple weeks ago. Was good but not as good as season 1 I thought.

Watched the first episode of "The Night Of", HBO's new crime-drama mini-series. Looks like it will be a slow burn but was impressed with the direction in the first episode....seems well-cast too. Worth checking out...Only issue I had is they portray the main character to be incredibly smart at the beginning of the episode only to be completely duped by the standard due process by the end of it.

Looks like it will play out as an intense "Clue" like mystery....and Turturro is in it, so that's good.

I think preachers is finally coming together with episode 5. I'm gonna give it another 3 episodes. it has an Angel meets Kill bill feel to it.
Seth Rogan has done his best to try and put a quentin tarantino feel to it.

Now the Preachers has used his power on half the town. All hell is about to break loose

Bloodlines Season 2

Seriously? That's how it ends? Kevin killing Marco and John driving off?

Rewatching:

The leftovers season two is the best television ever produced, by a landslide
