New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wouldn't consider Omar to be a villain in The Wire. Omar is a criminal, but he's a clear protagonist on the show, and he's usually (in his own way) on the same side as the cops. He frequently helps them and they help him from time to time as well. There are quite a few criminals on the show that I wouldn't consider to be villains, like D'Angelo Barksdale.

Stringer, though, is definitely a villain, although in this instance it's probably better to use the term antagonist because The Wire has a lot of gray area.

Bodie probably wasn’t a villain either in the grand scheme of things. Michael Lee’s transition into Omar at the show’s conclusion was one of the best closing dynamics ever.

There I go again, slipping through a crack to gush about the Wire

Maybe for best single season villain but I'd take a lot of others over him, great though he was.

Gus Fring
Stringer Bell
Marlo Stanfield
Boyd Crowder
Joffrey Baratheon

Could probably come up with a bunch more.

He is somewhat unique in that he's the only villain on that list that won even in death.

Don't forget Lorne Malvo from Fargo Season One.

Billy Bob Thornton was superb.

Yeah, he was fantastic. I guess he didn't come immediately to mind because, while he's certainly a bad guy, his role on the show isn't really that of a primary antagonist like the rest of the characters I listed. He's more of an agent of chaos that corrupts Martin Freeman.

The new season of Last Kingdom is on Netflix, @The Human Q-Tip.

First episode was baller.

It's probably next on my list after finishing Better Call Saul. I'm wrapping up the second to last episode right now. Probably going to rewatch the entire series.

Got the new season of Bosch to watch too.

Speaking of Better Call Saul, I love the guy who plays Lalo. He's got this energy about him that makes it seem like he's always on the verge of doing something horrible but it's a decidedly different type of performance from the guy who plays Tuco, who is similarly capable of snapping at any moment.

This season of Last Kingdom is very harsh.

Oh, Beocca. What a valiant priest. He will be missed.

Towards the end of season 1 of Arrested Development. Not sure why I waited so long. Such a good show.

The show suffered from terrible TV execs. Seasons were broadcast out of order all the time. For a show that requires you to follow the jokes as they evolve from episode to episode, it was tough to follow because it was always aired out of order.

I'd recommend pretending the show ends after season three. The fourth season was pretty bad and I didn't even bother with the fifth.

Do search for the Tobias catch a predator scene on YouTube after you finish season three, though. It's just about the only scene from season four worth watching.
