NFL Playoffs Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah the turning point was the Jags not trying to get in field goal range from their own 25 before half with 55 seconds left....There isn't a team in the NFL who doesn't knee it there and get to half.

There were 2 huge turning points.

1. About 2:20 left in the first half. Jags convert on 3rd down to get to the Pats 35 yard line. Gets called back for delay of game. Instead of the Jags having a great chance to pick up points, the penalty leads to a punt and an eventual Pats TD. Could've easily been 17-3 or 21-3 going into the half and instead it was 14-10

2. About 10 minutes left in the game, Jags up 20-10. Pats convert 3rd and 18 from their own 25. Pats end up scoring a TD on the drive.

They needed 37 yards to be within field goal range... What are you talking about.

2 time outs and 55 seconds is plenty of time. How you don't even run one play, then take a knee if you get nothing out of it, given the Pats only have one time out. Is, well, stupid..

Lol how is that a turning point?

You want Blake Bortles forcing the ball downfield in his own territory when you have the lead going into half time? That has disaster written all over it.

Rooting for the Vikes, but come the fuck on. Patriots will beat either of these teams.

Really thought the Jags should have gone for it in the fourth when they had 4th and 1. Don't remember if it was 20-10 or 20-17 when it happened, but they needed to keep the ball out of Brady's hands.

Can’t believe the Giants hired that lifeless body that is Pat Shurmur....my god.

In real time I called this the Jags' death sentence to my buddies when they decided to punt here.

Totally agree.

Danielle Hunter is the best player in the NFL that you don't know about.

Eagles absolutely having their way with the Vikings. Behind the play of Nick fucking Foles.

Not sure what you're meaning. Force the ball down the field? Who said that.

The Pats are a team that always makes second half adjustments better than everyone else. The same things that were there, aren't going to be there in the second half.

You can't get super conservative. You're acting like 55 seconds, 2 timeouts, is something most teams don't try to utilize with.

Run a safe/high percentage pass play on first down. Bortles has been really good at securing the ball. Now, don't trust him?

Not there, run it then go in at half. That's what most teams do. Even teams with bad QBs.

It's be super duper safe, to just say eh, we get the ball at halftime we'll be fine.

And what happen? The Jags didn't get the same looks in the second half and didn't move the ball the same way.

Because Belichick is the master at adjusting and cleaning up breakdowns. That was going to happen. if the Jags didn't think so then they are underestimated this isn't stupid Tomlin on the sidelines.

If you have a chance to knock them out, you TAKE IT. There's nothing super risky trying to move the ball 30 plus yards, with 2 time outs and enough time to do so.

Most teams wouldn't in that situation. You're underdogs on the road with the lead and you get the ball back at the start of the half. The risk of turning the ball over in your own territory is much greater than the unlikely reward of moving the ball 37+ yards into FG range.

Has anyone ever trusted Bortles?

Leading the Pats by 7 instead of 4 at halftime is a chance to knock them out?

Yeah, there's a risk you turn it over and lose the lead and any momentum you have.

Calling the decision to knee it there a turning point is insane. It didn't change anything.

Eagles winning the Super Bowl without Wentz would be funny as hell

Won't happen though
