(No Longer) Joe Woods’ Defense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Didn't he all but push Stefanski out the door so he could hire Kubiak Jr? Any reason to think he'd want to work for Kevski?

It doesn't seem like that's what happened, no.

Stefanski took the Browns job in January of 2020. Klint Kubiak was the Vikings QB coach at the time and he remained in that role for the 2020 season. Gary Kubiak, Klint's father who was an offensive consultant in 2019, became the OC for one season following Stefanski's departure.

But there's not much evidence that Zimmer had a bad relationship with Stefanski. In fact, he thought so highly of Stefanski that he blocked him from following Pat Shurmur to the Giants as offensive coordinator in 2018.

And he promoted Stefanski to OC himself when DeFilippo flamed out before the 2018 season ended too.

Woods brought checkers to a chess match. He's lost the locker room.

It was like the Encyclopedia Britannica of Offensive Misdirection out there.

The Aesop's Fables of Ass Kickings, and the Patriots weren't saving any touchdowns for the winter.

The Old Testament of Offense - Thou Shalt Not Defend.

Welp, looks like Myles got in trouble for his comments yesterday.

That's all from me this week. I feel like I've been training a baby to take his first steps since August of 2020 and the toddler is still flopping around a fucking quilt on the floor.
Is this a metaphor for the Browns defense?

I'm pretty sure all the coaches had to say was, "Myles: those counters and end-arounds were working because every team knows you don't run contain."
This is true, he doesn't hold the edge worth a shit. He gets caught inside while they blow right past him.

I can't remember watching a Browns defense this bad on 3rd down and i've watched some awful defenses the last twenty years.

Inexcusable with the talent we have. Woods can't pull the Sendejo trump card to justify it this year.

I truly think it's too soft of coverage on 3rd and long, specifically their screen defense. The Patriots put a hurting on the Browns because the Browns don't tackle particularly well in space and are slow to recognize screen passes.
